The 3.5 mm socket is a combined optical and analogue output.

excellent move on the part of Meridian. Yes I agree, a pair of DSP's (or M80) and MS200 a makes for great additional zones. Regards, Carl

Personally a bit sad that it is not wireless too because getting Ethernet to another room (for say a kitchen zone) is a bit of a pain... /Marcus

True, I think eBuyer has them for this price at the moment - but I am running out of spare sockets!
Wouldn't it be nice to have an M80 with one of these built in.

Look for homeplug adapters with passthru and you don't lose a socket. D

Definitely sets the cat amongst the pigeons. Assuming you can use a MC200 as your storage, those are going to sell even faster on the used market now!
Any word on USA pricing? $799 or $999?

So paired with a Reviver, this unit will pretty much allow use with anything? I wonder how long before there are after market power supplies for this little unit! http://www.ciaudio.com/products/VDC5MKII
Primary: MD600, MS200 (SpeakerLink to AES), Trinnov ST-2, Ayre V6-xe, Salk SS8 3x LRC. Secondary: MC600 (whole house). Zone one: 568.2, G57, MS200, Spatial Hologram M2SE. Zone 2-6 (Awaiting assignment).

@ DLinsley
Yes. Will be interesting for all non-critical listening locations/systems. MS600 may still prove to be the unit of choice elsewhere.
MC200 plus MS200's would be a very neat and more affordable multi-room system.
@ Yetis
Yes....would seem to be the case. Again, let's hear what SQ they can deliver.

Personally a bit sad that it is not wireless too because getting Ethernet to another room (for say a kitchen zone) is a bit of a pain. You can always use external cat5 and run round the outside of the house (it's black and looks just like a BT phoneline). Just an idea as this solution is often overlooked. Cheers, Rick
