Ok heres the info I obtained by going into Control:PC "Settings' and then under the "Information" tab.

I am not computer tech savvy but was able to access the debug function. What info should I be looking for in debug?

FWIW, I'm using a fairly new router (Netgear N750). I doubt that is the cause of the problem as Control:PC was working fine with my router. But I'll through it out there for consideration.

Try a wired connection if you are not already. Slow transfer and app exit are issues that I have found when using wireless (through a few walls) and loss of network.

I agree, do not use wireless to import, it can work, I have done it, but some rips sound bad and problems arise. Chris

If only we could turn on a "trace log" option...

Just a curiosity but is your CD in a BD reader or a DVD ROM drive?

When I attempt to import using the computer with a PANASONIC BD DRIVE it fails. When I import using my laptop and a DVD ROM driver it works...

My MC200 has always been hard wired to the netgear router.
My import method is to rip to DB and then import the file. In addtiion I have used the native DVD-ROM drive in my windows 7 PC to rip CDs, but neither method works now.

I just tried to run a backup and it failed for "unspecified error". I'm becoming increasingly alarmed that there is some major flaw with my MC200 because last night it stopped playing a song midway thru the song and skipped down my playlist and resumed playback several songs further down the queue. This happened using my iPad for selection and playback.

Oddly enough I can still use Control:PC to browse my library and it looks correct. In addition I was able to make a minor edit to some metadata on a previously imported album so it suggests that the Control:PC software is "communicating" with the MC200 on some basic level.

I admit to being unsavvy about routers/networking. Is it possible that the problem lies with my otherwise functioning router and not the MC200 or Control:PC software. I'd obviosuly like to try and troubleshoot that area before resorting to boxing up my MC200 and taking to dealer.

Perhaps I am misunderstanding you. I downloaded Control:PC to my desktop computer. That computer is hard wired to the Netgear wireless router. In turn the MC200 is hardwired to the router. I think thats one of the most rudimentary set-ups possible.

I lack sufficient computer knowledge to understand if my compounding problem with ControlPC could be a result of some inherent problem with my router, but am open minded about solutions.

If it used to work correctly, has "anything" changed on your PC since then?
As you say, your connections with a desktop PC and hard wired to Sooloos are exactly as recommended.
Have you another computer you could temporarily wire in with Control:PC to rule out one part of the system?

Oh dear, this does not sound at all correct.

I imagine that this is from your "router hardwired" PC - so router connection issues or Wi-Fi are not part of the problem.

As Chris mentioned, do you have another "router hardwired" PC from which to try a backup?

I imagine that you would very much like to have a backup.

Misunderstanding on my part. You were specific about MC200 being hard wired but not with PC so just wanted to clarify.

Back to your problem. Suggest reboot of MC200.

Hi,

I recommend rebooting your router, MC200 and PC. If that does not work consider rebooting any other kit you have connected to your home LAN.

If that still does not work try uninstalling Control:PC, rebooting your PC and then reinstalling from Control:WEB

Not very scientific I know but the above often does the trick.

The problem arose a few days back when I connected an Lantronix Xprintserver to my Netgear router. The Xprint is an external device which allows one to print from iPad/iPhone to USB printers. My first line of attack was to remove the Xprint device. According to Xprint tech support it doesn't install any software, hence nothing to remove but the device itself.

Control:PC still didn't work following removal of Xprint, so I have subsequently run through a litany of remedies. I've rebooted the MC200 and all devices conected to the router to no avail.

Today I hard wired my laptop PC to the router and ran its Control:PC app and tried to import a FLAC file I had stored on a thumb USB drive. Same problem, Control:PC opens the file and reviews metadata. But when I click on the accept and import tab, basicaly nothing happens. About 20 seconds later, the import function self terminates and throws me back to the main/home screen.

I know I haven't exhausted all non-Control:PC possibilities, but I am becomin fearful that the problem lurks in the MC200. I imagine that M can fix it, but I hate to think about being without the MC200 during the repair period.
