Thanks George,
I am curious could you enlighten me (I know it would take some going coming from Yorkshire!).

Would it be an upgrade if I bought a 861v4?

I can also personally report that an 861v4 is yet another significant upgrade from a 861v2.

I think the 568.1 to the 861 is the bigger sonic upgrade when compared to the 861v2 to 861v4 upgrade. Personally, I have no great desire yet to move to an 861v6 since the v4 is just superb.

So, I agree with George in that it is my opinion that your assumption quoted above is (vastly) incorrect.

Then you can move your 5500s to the rear for an all DSP setup and sell on the 577 and the Kefs to help pay for the DSPs.

Hi Marcus, I did ask here some time ago 'New G61R or secondhand 861v4' - so I kept my G61R

Hi Shaun,
Far be it for me to disagree with Carl who may have heard a G61R against an 861V4 and since I have never heard a G61R I can't make that comparison.
All I do know is that my DSP5000 24/96 setup saw a marked improvement in sound depth when I moved from an 861V2 to an 861V4 and the guy who purchased my 861V2 reported a jaw-dropingly better sound improvement over his 581.
