Give me a break I'm from a humanities background! I would not presume to theorise about this, but it seems to me foolish to ignore evidence, even if that comes from my own ears. I did not expect to find the differences, one attraction of Meridian was the simplicity of the concept. But they exist, they are significant and I don't buy the placebo explanation. Nor do i want to indulge in unreason. I have no idea what is going on but I do know that my system sounds much better. And that is what matters to me. I wrote my original contribution in the spirit of sharing and suggesting that others may wish to play with these ideas too. I'm not trying to sell you anything! (But Bright Star Isonodes are wonderful things.) Best wishes.

I will be sitting on the fence for a while I think until I get time to move a few units around at home. Move over Nick! /Marcus

It's called self deprecating irony Marcus.

Apologies for my intemperate response. I imagine we are all looking to get the most enjoyment from our systems and any disagreements about how we achieve it are secondary. Let many flowers bloom. For me those little semi-spheres of rubber like material tick two essential boxes, 1)they are cheap and, 2) they work in that they help to make my system more musical to my ears. Unfortunately I own no shares in the company. I'm glad that tweaking still appears to work - I'm with Vonnegut - life's for pooping about. Best wishes

2 different systems at 2 different houses? I don't think so... At risk of falling foal at the punch and judy comment... Billions of computer systems at millions of locations? And suddenly they all work slightly different when moved slightly. I don't think so... Think what you want but my ears are telling me something is changing. Instead of digging in here why don't you experiment a little bit? And, "working slightly different" vs. sounding different are two different things.

I totally agree with you - that we are all trying to get the best sound out of the equipment we own and seriously, I am very happy that your tweaking works for you. I loved your phrase "Let many flowers bloom" and long may this be the forum for us all share our audio horticultural experiences without feeling bullied or humiliated. Those isolation feet are so reasonably priced - I think I'll try some myself and see if I can squeeze a tad more excellence from my system. Best regards /Marcus

Hi Marcus, good for you. Sod's law of course determines that you will find no change, but I am happy to be told I'm talking nonsense by someone who has taken the trouble to listen. Nice to imagine that the bit is a bit boys might (like the Chicago boys) just be wrong! Let me know how you get on. I find improvement in the upper mid band, especially with voices.

One thing I did find that improved the sound of my MC200 was a power conditioner. I found a rather inexpensive one from Array Solutions that works well (about $100 CDN). Meridian admitted they are looking at incorporating power conditioning in their equipment moving forward. I believe the science behind this is not only to keep power line noise from entering the MC200 but also to keep the noise from the MC200 from entering the power line and impacting other union components.

In this review and also in your signatures, you are only mentioning MS600 & MD600, I always thought you needed an additional core like the MC200 to hear some music. Is this not correct?
