Hi,
I'm still quite new to the forum but saw this and thought what an excellent idea.
I was 16 when I owned my first piece of kit. I worked Saturdays in my local HiFi shop and at the time another member of staff was a big Meridian fan. I went round to his to have a listen and after 2 minutes of a track I was hooked! quite simply blown away!
I purchased his M33's that had been used as rears when he changed them up to M60's at the time. I followed that quite quickly with a S/H 501 and 506.20.
Then as he upgraded through the Meridian line so did I behind him

The 501 was replaced with his 561m when he bought the 568, I added m60's to the front to give me 4 channels followed by an M33c.
Then I had his 568 and 596 as he upgraded to the 568.2mm and 598. Followed by an M60c.
When he moved into G series I had his 568.2mm. I then bought a G98DH and later a G68J still using M60's M60C and M33's (never to this day owned a sub)
Then I decided to sell all of it to fund cash for a deposit on a house

(never did buy one after that, but moved in with my partner which cost just as much).
I tried to live with things less capable ... Marantz AV amp, that unit lasted all of 4 months! I replaced that with some S/H Arcam FMJ bits AV8 and FMJ CD player and as good as it was it never made the hairs stand up on my neck.
I regretted selling those bits so much! However, finally funds are begining to come around and I managed to get back the 561M and 596 I had given to a family member as they have upgraded to G series. I've recently changed the 596 to a 598DP, after a fantastic transaction with Mr Meridian on this forum (total gent!!) and will be looking to add a 568.2mm in the future followed by DSP's as time goes on, along with a possible HD621 and even a MC200. Then will come some hard saving for maybe 800 series

It feels a very long road back into a complete M system at the moment but im enjoying every minute of it! One could say its a lesson learnt!
Kind regards
David
