I am a Meridian dealer and am in the process of giving feedback to Meridian to help improve their iPad app and would like to get some feedback from end users as to what they like and don't like about the iPad app, in particular, the focus interface. It would be great to have feedback from both people who have never used a C10/C15 and people who have.

Some questions to ponder:
- How well does the iPad app interface work for you?
- Do you think it should be improved or is it fine the way it is?
- How often do you use the focus on the iPad vs the C10/C15?
- Do you have any suggestions that would improve the interface?
- Are there other areas of the iPad app that you would like to comment on, either favorably or with suggestions for improvement?

Thanks,
Michael

Hi, thanks for your interest here, I am sure you will get replies many and various.....
For me, I would like to be able to cut and paste a review in the review section. If an album has no review and you find a relevant one, this could save a lot of time.

Point 2. With missing cover art, I can get it online and drag it in ok, the trouble I have is that on some discs the art shows on the main screen, on others it only shows on the Album detail screen.
I hope this helps, Chris smile

It is a very good idea to ask users what they think of the App. I am just surprised that Meridian needed to do this via dealers. They could simply have asked the question directly on here to get them started. grin

App works well, I like it. My only frustration is that often the queue is not displayed. I have to fully close the app and then reopen it to display properly.

I love the new app and find the focus interface useful and easy to use. But there is a huge quantity of feedback about the app in the "New Sooloos iPad app" and "New iPad app bugs and features" threads that should be very valuable for M and which would be beyond tedious to repeat in another thread.

And specifically for the focus interface I think they are too many clicks to add a focus item. After I have clicked on 'add items' and, say,' genres', why should be asked to click on 'add genre' to get a list of genres to add? Why not just go straight to genres?

I also think that genres needs to be easier to read and select. The slight indentation does not help enough. It can be a very long list which is hard to manage to select effectively.

I have not played extensively with focus yet but i think that i would like it to be more obvious that I had a focus enabled from the album grid screen. Apologies if it already does this and I have not noticed, but maybe if focus icon could be coloured if a focus was active.

Also following on from Nicks comment on Genres. Again I have not really had a play with this but can I focus on a subset of a genre and it focus on all the sub genres. For example , not that I would want to, but if I could focus on holiday I would want this to include Christmas, Easter etc.

Apologies if it already does all this but thought that I would mention these as you asked.

Someone else in a different thread also mentioned about focusing on unplayed/least played tracks and variations on that theme. I think this would also interest me.

I would like them to port it across to Android. I can't think of many modern apps from a major manufacturer that aren't supported on both platforms.

This is perhaps small, but the cover art should scroll left to right then down.

Just had another thought as SWMBO suddenly stopped Eva Cassidy singing (She did say, sorry Eva). Could we not have a fade down button as an option to the basic stop, which seems brutal when things sound this good.

Thoughts, Chris smile
