Since submitting this post, I have tried several times to recreate the problem from scratch, but have thus far been unable to do so. I now have no idea what state I put the new app into, or how. But as I wrote, the solution was to use the original app to delete the queue. Sorry for the misinformation.
I stumbled across an irregular behavior yesterday. Used the new app to start playing all tracks in a disk. Returned the iPad to its home screen and shut it down. Towards the end of the disk, I reopened the iPad and then the new app. It immediately recognized my MC200, but then sat interminably with "loading playlist" on the screen. The original app opened fine and showed the queue fine.
Deleting the queue with the old app restored normal function to the new app. Work around is not to bail out of the new app during a listening session; closing and reopening the iPad (i.e. not returning to iPad home screen before closing the iPad) seems fine though.

I have it on very good authority Meridian have the info they require, they have retreived logs from my MC200, as well as requesting iPad crash logs, I for one am more than impressed with the efforts being made to resolve the issues.
I'm content with the situation, lots of apps crash, frequently. I'm going to use the wait time to get to know how to use it, which is a lot more intricate than I thought...
(I use my MS600 via an Airport Express, which I shouldn't really but I very very rarely get drop outs. I got one the other day and it occurred to me that if Meridian accessed the system remotely, to investigate crashes or whatever, it may overload the limited bandwidth and cause drop outs?)
Bug 15. iPad App. When updating the play count, track 8 of the album Birdy keeps at count = 0 and last played = 0 whilst all other tracks before and after track 8 update play count as expected. Even if I play the whole album it still does it.
Bug 16. iPad App. Last played date is one day out. Today is 6th March but all evening it has been saying last played 5th March when I play a track. iPad is correctly set to todays date so its not the iPad.
Bug 17. iPad App. Queue view keeps reporting "untitled Playlist: 4 items remaining in Queue" even if I add items to the queue. My slight variation is that even if the queue has finished and all tracks have played it still says 4 items remaining. It goes away if I exit the app and start it again.
Also is Queue mode supposed to always display the actual tracks in the queue ? because mine sometimes does, sometimes does not - only the number of items remaining in the queue.
I also have the previously reported bug of play list getting stuck and I can't delete it. it seems to correct itself after a few minutes.
The app has crashed one time over the last week. I was selecting an album from browse view when it crashed.
I have a mark-1 iPad with 64Gig and a data sim card fitted.
I have noticed the reoccurring problem. In radio channels I have added a few radio channels. The problem is that the images of the radio channels wont show.
The radio channels are the following: SR Klassiskt SR P2 musik Linn Jazz Linn Classical Linn Radio Classic FM BBC Radio 3 Bandit Rock 1.FM - Otto's baroque musick
All radio channels have images because they display properly when I pull down "now playing tab" by tapping the Meridian logo at the top. Just after I added 1.FM - Otto's baroque musick the image was showing but the next time I opened the app the image was gone. I use iPad 1. Has anybody else had this type of problems or I am alone with it.
Best regards Per, Sweden

On my Control:10 when sorting by "import date" it will list each days imports alphabetically. Could you have been loading your discs in reverse alphabetical order?

When a CD has a mixture of multi-movement works and single-movement works, any single-movement works after a multi-movement work are displayed as further movements of the multi-movement work.
So for example a disc with Brahms Piano Quintet op.34 followed by Brahms op. 119 no. 1 (the disc I just imported) will have the fifth track displayed as if it were a fifth movement of the Quintet.
p.11 of the Advanced Collection Guide shows this sort of thing being correctly (or at least better) handled. In that example, track 9, Connotations, is indented differently from the tracks above which form part of a multi-movement work. It is this graphic difference which is missing from the iPad app, and causes everything to be wrong in such cases.
When a disc starts with single works followed by a multi-movement work, all is well.
In the Browse Album view, if I hit the "Sort Mode" button, the dropdown can get sticky.
Ok, its a bit esoteric/odd, but if you keep on hitting the Sort Mode button, it's as if it keeps on popping up i.e. it doesn't know it's already activated. You can see the drop shadow getting bigger and bigger. If you click anywhere off the button, you will see the drop shadow recede again so you can recover. It was very confusing to me, because if I changed my mind, I inadvertently hit the button again and got into a bit of a loop.
For the record; I often get my Queue disappearing, as has been posted by a few people, restarting the app fixes it.
Overall, though, loving the functionality of the new app. The focusing is very powerful (forensic mode very cool).
