Interesting that it is the 1st gen iPad that people have been having issues with as it is that platform that Meridian have been showcasing the app on as part of their roadshow.

Yes I have and it is very frustrating as the app seems to crash all the time.

I haven an iPad 2 and it seems to make less problems. Anyway Meridian has to act and should bring an update.

Here is an workarround for the grey album art:

1. Delete Album art in ControlPC/MAC software
2. Save
3. Add correct cover again
4. Save
5. Reload the album art on iPad (Restart etc.)

iPad 1 user here also..........iOS 5.01.........Minimal other Apps running while using "Core Control".........usually just Safari and Email..........all other Apps force closed and Rebooted iPad to clear Memory

App appears quicker than when using the Meridian iPads at Bristol last Saturday.......Covers load pretty quickly.......and for the most part seem to be held in Cache after the first Browse thru the Library

I've only seen 1 or 2 App Crashes in several hours of using the App........making sure that the Maximum amount of RAM is available and minimizing background Apps is critical to successful operation

Just to deal with Covers in more detail

a) After opening App for the 1st time after e.g. a Reboot.....and using the Browse Screen......the Covers load "indiscriminately"........i.e. in the Grid of 15/16 Covers, any of the Covers might load at any time........this type of loading is indicative of loading the Cover Images from across the Network

b) However, after the 1st Browse thru the Library, the Covers seem to be cached on the Device........as when there is a delay in loading them, they then quickly load in sequential blocks.......this type of lag is indicative of how many iPad App handle Graphic intensive apps........i.e. the Graphics are within the Ram of the iPad, but the Processor / Graphics chip just take a while to "process" and Render them..........almost as if the iPad is redrawing the Screen in Blocks.......which you can also see in other Graphics intensive Apps

Not a "Bug" per se........more of a Strong Request

Please allow Editing of Albums in the iPad App........in particular simple Editing like Toggling On/Off the "Album Picks" and "Track Picks"

I understand why more intensive Editing / Grooming should be done on a computer as that is the best place for it.............but simple Editing, like that above, should be enabled within the App

Old app and new app (explore mode)

This has been noted in a few posts, but, I'll use this instance to provide an update.

Ronnie and I had a very good discussion with Roland (HQ) on Saturday about some of the things we have been noting in these threads. Roland has been in touch today to confirm what we have all missed on this specific issue....(it's quite funny)

When you see the selection pop-up and there is no Cancel button you simply have to scroll the popup. Cancel is at the bottom.

It seems to only occur when there are 'album picks' for that album and the popup becomes longer to accommodate these options for selection.

I've checked both old and new app and it is fine. Just scroll !!

I have an iPad 2 that has crashed while running Core Control.
It seems to happen when going between Album and Browse views.
The maximum size of cover art I use when importing is 600x600.

Cheers

You can create sets on the new core control iPad app, but I never could on the old app.

Hi

On the browse window tap the icon that looks like a pen (top right of the screen) and it brings up the create set tab, then touch the albums you wish to put in a set they should have a blue halo effect around them and the hit create set, hope that is what you meant?

i.e. the iPad works the same as the C15 screen for sets.
