I am not sure i understand this.
Can you define what you mean by 'after' the first import?
I normally import using ControlMac or C10 and go into the 'recently imported' tab to re-size the artwork after Sooloos has defaulted to its usual 200 x 200 size (if it has found it at all!).
I hope I am not going to loose the improved artwork after all this hassle!
Many thanks for the info whatever the case by the way!

Ronnie,
Further to your post about the re-sized album cover art, I have looked through some of the music directories on my system and have found an album that I changed from the cover art as originally selected by Sooloos to a quite different looking cover art jpg from Album Art Exchange.
I checked each of the re-sized jpg files in the folder for that album on my system and they are each resized versions of the cover art that I pasted into Control:Mac, something that I'd done well after first importing the album.
I wonder if Sooloos just takes its time to update the various files on the system when it's sitting idle? I am 100% sure that the re-sized artwork matches the artwork I imported (it is recognisably different to the artwork that Sooloos originally found, and recognisably so for each of the re-sized files). I am also 100% sure that I didn't have the hi-res artwork before importing the album.
Regards,
Ian

Sorry Ian, but you need to be more comprehensive in your system checks
Obviously, I can't test or speak for every Sooloos System out there, so let me be more specific about the tests that I have done before posting here
1) The Left Hand "ReSize" Photos in the post above were taken YESTERDAY from my Sooloos system........the Album itself was one of the First Albums I Imported back in August 2011......the main "Cover.jpg" file was replaced with a High Res Cover almost immediately........the ReSize files are still the Low Res versions you see above.......so, if the Sooloos is "taking its time to update", then it's taking an awful long time
2) I noticed this issue of the ReSize files not being Updated or Changed back in August or so and I asked Carl and NCPL Nick to check for the same issue on their Sooloos systems.......they confirmed that they were seeing the same issue on their Systems, i.e. the ReSize files were not being changed, even after the User replaced the Cover with a High Res Version
3) I've kept about 20 Albums on the System that were originally imported with just the Low Res Covers......I wanted to see if any System Update made changed to the ReSize files........there have 2-3 System Updates since then........none of which has caused the ReSize files to change
4) Last week in discussing another issue with Carl and as part of a test we were BOTH still seeing the same issue on our respective systems.........i.e. Replacing the main Cover did not result in the ReSize files being changed
All my tests above were done on both ControlMAc and ControlPC.......Carl and Nick used ControlPC........I cannot speak for what happens if you replace the Artwork using the Control:10/15
So, all I can say is that 3 people have the same issue with their Sooloos systems.........others will have to test their own system for themselves

Other users can easily test this "Cover ReSize" issue for themselves
1) Take 3-5 Albums of your choice (might be best to use "less played" Albums for reasons I'll explain below)
2) Using ControlPC/Mac, select an Album and click "Edit Album".......now replace the Cover with e.g. a Picture of a Dog or another Album.......basically something that you can easily identify as being "wrong for that ALbum"..........click "Save" and exit from Edit Album as normal
3) Using the Debug Screen, go to Album Listing HTML ----> Find the Album you changed in the List and click "Dir" next to that Album ---->
4) That will bring up a list of Files for that Album.......it includes the FLAC Music files......as well as the Cover files
5) Click on the "Cover.jpg" link.........that will bring up the "Wrong Cover" Picture that you just Copy / Pasted into the Edit Album screen
6) Now click on any of the "Cover.Img002Resize512 / 256 / 170.jpg" links that you see.......
7) Is the Image you see the Cover you used at Original Import..........or is it the "Wrong Cover" that you just imported.............if Sooloos is working properly, the ReSize Image you see should be the above "Wrong Picture"
8) If you like, leave the above 3-5 Albums with the "Wrong Picture" and try Rebooting your System.....or leaving them alone for a few days........just to see if the ReSize Covers change to a version of the "Wrong Cover"

Hi Ian,
Ronnie mentioned that I did some tests, this is what I did on the 13th of Feb 2012.
Sooloos System: C15, TwinStore, ControlPC all running software version 2.368 Album used for test - Birdy by Birdy
Sooloos Debug used to save all existing Sooloos artwork to PC folder (#1 from debug) cover.jpg 1000x1000 778 Kb Birdy cover_img02resize170.jpg 0170x0170 19.9 Kb Birdy cover_img02resize256.jpg 0256x0256 24.6 Kb Birdy cover_img02resize512.jpg 0512x0512 48.2 Kb Birdy
ControlPC used to update artwork from Birdy.jpg 1000x1000 image to AmyMacDonald.jpg (1000x1000) image Save button pressed. ControlPC shutdown.
Sooloos Debug used to save all existing Sooloos artwork to PC folder (#2 from debug) cover.jpg 1000x1000 486 Kb Amy MacDonald cover_img02resize170.jpg 0170x0170 19.9 Kb Birdy !!! cover_img02resize256.jpg 0256x0256 24.6 Kb Birdy !!! cover_img02resize512.jpg 0512x0512 48.2 Kb Birdy !!!
Start ControlPC View Birdy album details Artwork displayed is 1000x1000 is Amy MacDonald (as expected) Play track, small icon (top-left) is Amy MacDonald (as expected)
Control15 Main 6.3 Screen: is Amy MacDonald (as expected) Album Info Screen (Small icon right): is Amy MacDonald (as expected) Album Info Screen (Medium icon right): is Amy MacDonald (as expected) Album Info Screen (Large Pop up): is Amy MacDonald (as expected) Screen saver (large): is Amy MacDonald (as expected)
Reboot Contro15 Debug files no change Screen Images no change
Reboot TwinStore Debug files no change Screen Images no change
Conclusion The smaller jpg files are not updated when the album art is updated by ControlPC The smaller jpg files are not used by ControlPC or Control15
Speculation The smaller jpg files might be for use by iPad, iTouch apps or they could just be redundent. However, if redundent why the new 170*170 pixel file? I don't have any Apple devices to test with (I'm waiting for the iPad3).
So no surprises over and above what we already knew with these observations. Ill pass on to [a dealer] and ask him to investigate further with Meridian.

I've since had a reply; that "only the large art work is used".
However, as this is at odds with the introduction of new 170*170 artwork, I've asked for further clarification.

Ronnie, Carl,
Thanks for the clear explanations of the tests that you've run. I have checked a few more albums on my system - ones that I know for sure that I have replaced the originally obtained AMG (or whoever) cover art with high-res cover art of my own. In each case, the re-sized artwork is a match for the higher resolution image.
Maybe I'm lucky in that my system is doing this for me (and I am unlucky in other aspects of my fortunes with Sooloos, but that's another story).
Regards,
Ian

Ronnie,
Your test is effectively what I've done with every album that I've changed the artwork for.

3) Using the Debug Screen, go to Album Listing HTML ----> Find the Album you changed in the List and click "Dir" next to that Album ----> Hate to ask the dumb question but where is the debug screen? I'm using Control:PC with MC200, can't find it. Apologies, etc...

Hi, Point your web browser at: http:// IP Address of Sooloos Core/debug e.g. http://192.168.1.123/debugIt's documented in the Sooloos Advanced User Guide, it's worth a read there is a lot of good information in it. Regards, Carl
