Where did I ever say that their client was a company? It's not and it's not an individual either. I cannot say any more as its now a matter for the government to sort out. It's also not an isolated matter. Some of these fancy construction projects going are not quite what they seem.

However there is a wealth of pre-owned M equipment regularly available in UK. In general this has been cherished and offers fantastic value to BOMAD to get the next generation started. A good pair of 18 Bit 5Ks and a 562 is less than �1K, which incidentally is below 20% of my first M investment 16 years ago!

I think that putting a Meridian product in Apple stores is a fantastic idea! Something along the lines of an M80 type product, but stripped down for only iPod dock and Airplay would be perfect. Removing the disc drive, tuner, and video would enable a lower price point and better market penetration too.

But they have to know about it, and they don't.


Meridian is getting mentioned less and less on hifi forums these days, it is a very rare thing to hear the name, and these are guys who are really into this stuff.

I agree it is a great way for the new generation to experience Meridian, but if they have not heard of it they are not even going to be looking for it.

The way to add it now is to get an Apple Airport Express for $99 and connect it to the F/M80 and then people can stream, Otherwise, they have to add a few things inside to do this, It might have to be done carefully as to not have interference with the other sections of the M80, but I am sure Meridian could do this on future models, it is just a matter of finding the room inside to do this, It's cramped inside as is.

All we have to do is to inform Meridan on what think might be great ways or great features to add to allow for more sales, then it might help. I think Meridian has to realize that figuring a new way to sell their products and open up new markets for themselves. I think making their M80 product more Apple friendly will help since there are tens of millions of potential users to tap into, as well as getting more OEM car stereo deals will help in branding them. It is hard for the high audio makers to sell into the Bose mentality since they still have to keep their quality there and quantity costs money.

I wonder what a little powered cube with the M80 drivers would cost and sound like if they tailored that to computer users that just want a great sounding small powered cube with a small barium loaded cabinet, The BeoLab 4 are something like $1,000 a pair. I am sure Meridian might be able to compete with those, and certainly sound better.

I used to go to the Bristol (UK) AV show each year. M always had a big room with a huge queue of all sorts of folks waiting in line for their demo. That was a good way of M getting noticed, spreading the word, and knocking all other exhibitors for six!

But they've stopped doing shows, so now no-one is likely to stumble across them.....

(Btw, the big hotel DrOne refers to is, I think, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. Dubai ran out of money and was bailed out by Abu Dhabi - the oil-rich largest Emirate in UAE. The price, was rename the world's tallest building virtually overnight to have the AD ruler's family name.... Caused a stir in publicity/marketing circles changing from Burj Dubai to Burj Khalifa days before the official opening!!)

Most of my M kit has been bought second-hand, but I did buy my 500 series amplifier and A500 speakers brand new. I certainly couldn't afford to buy new M kit nowadays. Still, I'd like a HD621.....!

Apart from Sooloos functions, Airplay and complete DLNA streaming support will make this radio/mediaplayer a longtime classic apart from it's gorgeous design ofcourse..
