Been gone from forum for long time. Hope I can get a sence of direction from you guys. Is apodising available for my 861v4. When I check posts I can't find answer. Feel stupid, but hope there are no stupid questions.

Yes, it's part of the new firmware for the 861v4.

Meridian ask you to contact a Premium Dealer to supply the firmware. Some will do it for free if you take the machine into the store, some will charge you an amount for labour in store, some may do it for you at home for a call out and labour fee.

Cheers

George

It would be a good idea to contact some of the dealers who post here as they have a lot of experience with delivering the update.

I have not used a dealer from this forum before but would be extremely greatful for the help. I am willing to pay for the service as I am located in a small coastal town in South Carolina U.S.A and have always had to ship my M gear to Atlanta for service in past .The nearest brick and morter dealer is over 250 miles away

You could also contact Mark Koval (search in forums) and give him a call. He may be able to help although it would involve shipping the 861 again. Good luck, I think this upgrade is worth the effort.

You don't need to ship anything to get it upgraded.

If you don't have a local dealer that can help you, Take the heavy hint and try contacting some the active dealers on the forum.

It's really not as bad as everyone thought, including myself.

I'm sure Meridian doesn't want folks unplugging and bringing components in or shipping them.

The upgrade is pretty straightforward. Please upgrade your config program first.

Thanks to George and other Admins now- we have a community to support folks with questions on this forum.

If you are not able to get firmware- PM me.

Kishore

A M dealer on forum is helping me thanks to your advice. As usual this site is invaluable.

I am a little confused on the upgrade on the Configuration Program insistence. My firmware is as received back from the V4.2 installation over the 2.80 in 2006. Should this be acceptable? I would love to not have to ship my 861 anywhere if possible.

Again thank you. Larry Pack

Hi Larry,

You can download the Mconfig from the Meridian site, see Meridian Software link at the bottom of this page and then look for the Common Installer download link.

Carl

Call 404-344-7111 , go through sales, and ask for Ryan Donaher. He is the sales manager on the east coast and will make sure you are taken care of.

What firmware are you currently running?

Setup?

I'm a bit confused now. I thought that Meridian were keeping to the line that you had to take your gear to a dealer (or get the dealer to visit you) in order to obtain the latest firmware update. This thread appears to indicate differently.

Comments or clarifications?
