The truth is the Teranex can't do motion-comp. It is motion-adaptive only. The S&W Alchemist offers Mo-comp. Samsung will be using one at CES.

The FRC, which gives you 48 Hz on the T is really bad. We have a simple scrolling text pattern that goes from large to small and the Ternaex really looses it. A PC does a better, much better.

The M has the FLI23xxBC or BD in it, so in theory they could add 48 Hz.

We did a test at work with the T. We fed in 1080p/24 and output 1080p/24. There were lines missing. It actually scaled the image and cropped part of it off. They filter chroma resolution. (cut it in half)

Their engineer turn over rate is pretty high too. We keep getting software updates as we report problems.

For the record, a PC cannot ensure you get proper 2-2 or 3-3. We have a new test pattern on WHQL Test Annex 3 that shows this. You might get 2-2 or 3-1. You might get 3-3 or 4-2, etc...

I almost forgot, the new Pioneer Plasmas with HDMI also offer 72 Hz as an option. It is off by default because it gets really ugly on bad edits and video.

So certain models of the IF5700, the upcoming 7205 and the Pioneer Plasmas will all run at either 48 Hz or 72 Hz. (the DLPs will be 48 Hz) Early 5700s listed the 2-2 feature, but they used the AB rev of the chip, which would also give you 3-1 or 2-2. BC added the ability to lock. When it hits a bad edit, it still drops to video at 48 Hz. Not sure how that looks yet, but should be able to tell with Avia Pro.
