I first heard Meridian gear at a demonstration by Lintone Audio at Durham University Audio Society in 1983.
My first M equipment was a 200/203/204 system several years ago.
I've had lots of changes since then, and have just bought a 6000/5000/2500 system.
I'm still waiting to listen to it.
I hope that will be something to look forwards to.

M60s bought many years ago from a high street AV shop that had got them in part exchange and didn't know what they were. Amazing bargain for gorgeous floorstanders with first class power amps. My main system speakers until about 18 months ago and very much loved. Still going strong, voicing my 2nd system and now being fed by the analogue output of the MC200 and sounding better than ever.

MC200, Twinstore, 808v6/ID41 -> DSP8000SE (+ SB Touch, Sony BDP-3300, SKYHD, legacy cassette player)
2nd system: MC200 analogue out, Linn LP12, SB3 -> Quad 34 -> M60 rosewood

was working in a hifi store, and had worked my way up to a nice pair of a/d/s/ L1590's, bi-amped with a Perreaux PMF3150 on the bottom (great amp!), and some sort of AR tube amp on the top, running with an outboard a/d/s/ crossover. Not bad, but getting the hi/lo balance was a PITA, and the a/d/s/ made all the treble sound "the same".

Got a pair of M100's into the store on consignment & ...

...whoa!

[censored]! -- awesome!

absolutely HAD to have them!

From there eventally to D5K's + 568.2mm & some 5.1 version of same & that's where I stand today. Fed by Sonos.

Started with a 506.20, then added a 501.2, then added a 556, then added a 504, then replaced the 501 with a 561 (and added a REL sub), then replaced the CD player with a 596, then replaced the 561 and 556 (and AVI Neutrons and REL sub) with 562v and 5200.

Next? Working out how to sneak in some more speakers...

I was offered a 506.20 second hand. It made such a difference in my system that I gained instant 'trust' for the brand.

Then bought a 568 and 568 this was another BIG step up. Swapped out my ROTEL 1080 to acomidate.

Then swapped out my acoustic energy AE2 fronts and kef centre for DSP5500 and 5000c and D5500subwoofeer. This was a massive difference in sound!!!!!!! Awesome upgrade.

Then upgraded to a G68j and G98 combo.

Then picked up a pair of P330w on walls as rear speakers.

Then picked up the Sooloos MC200 and super happy with it. Absolutely can't wait for the iPad app upgrade.

I think I will always be loyal to the M brand so long as they keep on innovating : )

My first purchase was an F80 for my office. I had watched the brand for many years and was close to getting a G68 but I couldn't swing the coin at the the time.

The first Meridian kit I heard was the MCD into I think M20s, at Horn's of Oxford at the time the MCD came out. I was a school-boy then, taken to hear it by my Dad.

Meridian always seemed unattainable to me, and I stuck with Quad valve gear (then available very cheaply) and a Musical Fidelity A1. When my wife said she would be happy to have something better I was first going to get an ARCAM processor but then came here and was encouraged to buy Meridian second-hand.

So I bought a 568.2MM and three D33s, which was the first setup I owned.

I've since had to downsize (which is barely possible from there!), and who knows what will happen next...

First bought Meridian in 1994 - consisting of 551/555/504/506/A500's - and still going strong.

I remember the demo I had at Sevenoaks in Kent of a surround system with 565 and DSP 5000's I think.

I was blown away; I had never heard anything like it.
The quest began as I have had to build my present system on a shoestring.
I started with a 506 541 combo and now saving for Sooloos and DSP's

Visitors are always blown away by my system as it is just now, so I am happy to oblige them.

Cheers Chris smile

No 18 in the Hall of fame smile I have simple tastes; I am content to settle for the best:
GIK monster bass panels, rear wall. QNAP TVS 471i3. Roon into DSP5200SE via 210/ 218 zone... Explorer 2. Bluesound Pulse 2, Mini & Flex. 596v1, 518, Foxsat HD, Sony BDP, Pioneer 5090, 2 Chromecast's for LRB videos. MS200 to F80 for a Roon zone
