Excellent Criterion BD out recently of Thin Red Line if you have a Region Free player and the Director's Cut of New World at times feels like you're watching scenes from the ' Baraka' documentary which for SQ+PQ is pretty hard to beat too ; 5.1 Lossless 24/96 soundtrack = breathtaking IMO

+1 for Jurassic . Some very silly negative reviews around make you wonder what kit they are using to review with . Also , a french-language film from Canada called ' Incendies ' ( review here http://Bluray.highdefdigest.com/5644/incendies.html ) . Intriguing right up to the very end . ~M~

Bombon, El Perro.
An intimate, compelling story about a dignified and optimistic man who discovers a new way of life when he is given a dog.
Convincing characters, a simple script that seems almost improvised in places and well thought out cinematography deliver a film that satisfies on every level.
Probably the windiest film since Twister, does it ever stop blowing in Patagonia?
Recommended for fans of Argentinian cinema and everyone else.
Enjoy.

Children of Men from the PD James book Fantastic dystopian visuals and terrifying soundtrack The dialog is stereo (ish) too... Lots of long steadicam tracks (some almost impossible imho ) and real dialog in incredibly difficult locations. Its a technical tour de force.

Children of Men from the PD James book I think I recommended this Alfonso Cuarn film earlier in this thread. Anyway, I agree with you: highly recommended.

Incendies Very powerful story, it could have been a sensationalist disaster with the wrong director, but I thought it was terrific. Not a first date film though.... Cheers Greg

Last night I watched Never Let Me Go & thought it was fantastic. It gets a 7.1 rating on IMDb but I'd rate it an 8 at least and the story is far darker than I'd expected. Word of warning; don't read too much about it before you watch it. You need the shocks to come along unnanounced! It's a fabulous story, beautifully filmed & the violin passages sound quite wonderful. Not your average popcorn movie but a fantastic film, and all so unexpected!

I agree Incendies was spectacular in so many ways. Disturbing yet a compelling viewing experience. Another foreign movie already mentioned and worth a watch is 'Secret in their Eyes'.
