1) That deleting an album from Sooloos system also deletes it from the backup. OR 2) That deleting an album from Sooloos system means that that album will not be backed up when creating a new 'clean' backup.
If the former then I have to disagree; albums in a Sooloos backup are never removed (This is a backup maintenance option Id like to see added to ControlPC / ControlMAC)
I have just replaced a pair of 2TB Seagates with pair of 3TB Seagates ST33000651AS Barracuda XT 7200RPM SATA (6GB/s, 64MB Cache) in my TwinStore (RM). .... .... Once completed the TwinStore was listed as having 6TB Media fitted and the C15 reported it as have 2.953507 TB of available free storage space (With the C15s internal storage disabled).
Hi Carl,
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and all the other HH's.
My TwinStore has had Hitachi 3TB (RAID1) drives for a while, they have always been seen as 3TB drives but the total available space used to be around 1.8 TB, eg. 2TB formatted, in the light of your success I checked again this evening, and there they were 3TB (2.9) of total space with 1.7 TB free, have M released an update to allow this, something certainly appears to have changed?
If you rename an album and then backup to an existing backup you end up with two copies. I've seen this myself but I've not had any problems with the metadata not being updating.
So just to be absolutely clear: an incremental backup will not create a second copy of an edited album in the backup unless you change the album title? If you change other metadata it merely changes the single copy in the backup?
I had read reports that when users had attempted to fit 3TB drives in to their TwinStores they did not work. I also read that a little bird told one dealer that TwinStores are good for up to 10TB !!
So I did some more research and found a user (in another forum) that had posted about having 3TB drives successfully fitted (screen shots to prove available space etc.) by a HiFi shop.
I speculated that these 3TB had been pre-formatted to Sooloos specification by a 3rd party tool or maybe a beta version of the TwinStore OS. I eventually took the plunge and purchased a pair of 3TBs expecting I would have fun attempting to get them to work. However, as it turned they just worked out of the box.
So maybe Meridian did make an undocumented update in one of the Sooloos release. I dont know but Im very pleased these 3TB drives are working in my system.
Reference Info - TwinStore (Rack Mount Version) - System Version: 2.356 - Device Version: 1427 - Installed Drives: 3TB Seagate ST33000651AS Barracuda XT 7200RPM SATA (6GB/s, 64MB Cache) - Control 15 reports 6TB Media and 2.953507 TB of available free storage space
I can't guaranty this works with all TwinStores but mine (fingers crossed) is fine.
What significance does the Device Version have, I wonder? Just noticed my System Version is the same as Carl's but the Device Version is 1370. More or less suitable for these drives, I wonder?

Hi,
Mine is the same version as yours 1370 and the disks I have installed are Hitachi 3 TB.
I would not go for 'green' drive in either a NAS or a Sooloos storage product. Reason for this is that these drives go into standby mode very quickly, and not all products handle this feature well.
Very interesting , Russ and good to know that the unit can handle higher capacity drives in the future . Fingers crossed that we get 5.1 Sooloos capability at some point and the extra storage will be really handy .
