Yes, there is definitely an issue. At the moment it is not working and the documentation is incorrect.

Workarround:
I am creating an export destination which aims on the automatic import folder of iTunes and then I choose recently imported albums at the Control:10 by focusing e.g. the tag 'iTunes' or 'MP3' and select all of them in the edit mode and clicking on export. Then I am sure all new albums are exported only once.
Indeed very complex and frustrating...
