Why not re-run MRC? Took me hours upon hours of handcrafting my filters to get satisfactory results. I'm in no rush to repeat...

I've asked, and you don't need to re-run MRC.

Rick, please can you check what "Power amps not muted in standby" means in the DSP5000 release notes?

Were the amps NOT muted previously (and now are) or were the amps muted (and no longer are)?

Thanks.

I've been quoted 150 for 2 hours, which is fair enough I suppose for the travel time involved for the dealer. I'm sure he'll be very pleasant and provide an exemplary service. It's just that it's nigglingly irritating to have to proceed in this manner; a bit wasteful of everybody's time all round.

I'm certainly looking forward to listening out for the improvements.

Rick, does this apply to the speakers upgrades too?

Thanks, Mark

How much did they quote for you taking your units in to them?

+1 on this all being a total waste of time.

Sooloos, Roon, G series (with LPS upgrade), 800 series (with LPS upgrade), HD621, AC200, Prime and PS, DSPs old and new.

It's outrageous, is what it is. How many other companies force you through such hoops? My original dealer is out of business. My current adopted dealer is on the other side of the country. Why should we all, dealers included, have to go out of our way like this?

Thankfully, Meridian's glacial firmware update schedule means this won't happen too often smirk

Yes, you won't need to rerun the MRC in any situation after these firmware updates.
Feel free to if you like though, and report back if the filters are any different!

Cheers,

Rick

Mark,

If you have screen grabs from TrueRTA after you were done, perhaps it's worth your while to at least compare before and after the firmware update. I used an abbreviated approach using TrueRTA and I'll be looking for any differences at some point.

Bill

I never even asked as I didn't want the hassle of unplugging the G68 let alone lugging the DSP5200s in!

I understand their need to charge for their time but it's a shame that it's the only route available. They have always been very helpful (e.g. providing me with free plugs etc. and loan tools when creating my own comms cable).

The only saving grace is that if a firmware update fails then it is the dealer who has to "fix the brick" and not you.
