I got the call today (having contacted my dealer last week) that the new firmware was available for install (a dealer download from Meridian). I had asked them to check about reverting to the older firmware if I wanted to. I use the +3db tweak and am only really interested in the Trifield Width fix portion of the upgrade (all my music listening is using Trifield with upsampling either by puremusic or the HD621). Apparently reverting is not a problem. I could either take my units in or have a home install (for a standard 1h callout charge of �60) & have booked the home install for the 24th. Perhaps I'm being naive, but hope that I will be able to retain all my calibration values (and therefore the +3db) with the benefit of Trifield width finally working  Cheers, Justin

Yes, I also received a call from my dealer that the new FW was ready. The details of the install will remain a private matter between me and my dealer.

FWIW my dealer installed the new firmware on my G68J today and I can confirm Trifield width now works. Haven't had a chance to listen beyond that but will do tonight and hear what the other changes have, hopefully, added.

Just installed at my friend with DSP8000, DSP6000 and 861v4.
Just take my hat off woow what a difference; and now changing between Direct and Trifield with no loss of db.
Plus the work done to the DSP6000 woow.
Meridian you really did it.
My setup is also updated but as I'm rebulding I haven't had a listen yet hope everything ready next week.

Hi Justin,
I've just used the new firmware and everything worked.
No difference when switching between Direct and Trifield. Before I could never listen to Direct as it seemed lifeless compared to Trifield.
But not any more.

Just what I was afraid of, I called the local dealer (not a premium partner) and they had no idea about the update, told me they were going to call me before noon and never did. Will try again tomorrow. IF it turns out and I don't have a local dealer, how will I get the firmware? Any word from M in such cases?

Mine was done yesterday and immediately, first thing I noticed was the nomenclature now reads the same as the 808.3 for Sooloos "SLS", instead of just "AUX" in the past.
Also, the DSP8k now takes on a clearer presentation as though a light veil was removed. This really made me sit up to think if I should add on a 861v6 and a DSP7.2k HC centre channel speakers (for now thats what I can afford after saving for quite some time). More so, reading how much Tri-Field sounded so good.
