Are there enough wrinkles on MC200 set up to start a wiki page?

A WIKI would be great as im having loads of issues with mine.... My and my girlfriends iPhone wont connect and the iPad is REALLY temperamental and I have a feeling its something to do with the router settings but have no idea what..... I kinda gave up.

How do you even get controlMAC again? its really not intuitive as an owner what to do. I got it up and running in my old apartment but now relocated to Germany and having some bumps in the road.

OK to get Control:Mac, type in the IP address of the MC200 (interrogate the router) in your web browser. This brings up a page with tabs "Play" and "Settings", click "Settings" and you will find a download link for Control:Mac.

Don't give up , it's the future. It may be clunky now, a few years down the line it'll be plug and play. It's the pain and pleasure of the early adopter!

Your YouTube video was really cool by the way, how about a video wiki?

Perhaps more of a philosophical question but are we now in an era where we don't have to RTFM ?

The manuals aren't perfect as we all know but it always looks a lot worse when the advice posted is actually pretty clear in the manual.

How do I know what the IP address of the MC200 is?

I know I need to plug away at it.... I just get a little fed up with it sometimes and give up. I haven't even re calibrated my processor set up for the new room yet as a. I don't have a PC. b. Even when I did the connection to fetch the data was so temperamental and hardly worked. Again, I gave up with it....

Tintin already told you.

You may have to read the user guide for your router, to find out what its IP address is wink

On a windows machine you can, in a dos box, type ipconfig and look to find out what the default gateway is.
I'm sure this information is also avaiable on Macs.

Regards.

On Mac OS X, System Preferences App, Network panel, choose Ethernet 1 or Wi-Fi (which ever one is currently connected) , the router IP address is listed, after IP Address and subnet mask.

Mac OS X web browser safari includes Bonjour functionality for discovering LAN web services by non-technical people, to date only my networkable printers and File servers (netgear) take advantage of this functionality. Perhaps a suggestion for the Sooloos Core after all the major bugs are fixed :-)

The other option is to run the Sooloos Configuration Program, but it's Windows only. This tool scans the local network and 'finds' and displays information about the Sooloos devices connected to it.

Carl

Hello all.

I have exactly the same problem reported in this thread.

I suspect M have supplied me with a unit with the "core" turned off.

Where can I get the "Sooloos Configuration Program" mentioned here and also in the Sooloos MC200 instruction manual so that I can turn the core back on ?

regards
Shaun
