Hi, That depends on which processor you have. Have a look at this Wiki - Trifield Width Parameter page that I've just created.

Which processor do your have?

Regards,
Carl

Carl, I have a G68J, so no width adjustment available. This is a real shame since I enjoy Trifield but not enough to put up with a fairly significant bass loss.

Thanks for info.

I assume you have tried adjusting the Centre Speaker Depth. This may help if it is positioning issue. IIRC I've got an extra +0.5 mS on my system.

Carl

I have played around quite a bit with the center gain and depth. IIRC I'm running the gain -2db and the depth +1mS

I can certainly hear phase changes when depth settings are altered

Yes, as you alter the centre depth there are very big variations in the bass performance (reinforcement vs. cancellation). When width adjustment was working (ha ha) I don't think that this made a lot of difference to bass, just the room integration.

The effect noted with depth applies to the calibration setup as well as the adjustment within the Trifield preset.

Hi Carl - I have an original G61 (not an R), and width works just fine.

Sorry to be pedantic, but is it the case that it very audibly works fine (ie virtually mono at 0.0 up to very wide at 1.5), or that the display can be changed from 0.0 up to 1.5?

Cheers

Good point George. If the width adjustment is working properly it is not subtle.

Doesn't work on my G61 - and there have been no software changes for that, so we must have the same. The display changes, sure, but to no effect.
