Rafael,

Would you be so kind to do that to find out where the problems are as I recommandened in my 3 last mails from my 15 mails?
As I said, if you want help, follow the suggestions only one step after the other then you get finally sucess.
Without doing that you will never know if it's a problem of the speakers hardware or software, the speaker setup, the cables or the reviver.

Which Version of Firmware do you have on your speakers?

First step is to make a stereo 2-channel setup with only 2 x 3100 with power cords, the MSR , a CD source with RCA connector (SPDIF standard) and
-- One Meridian S-lead
OR
-- A BNC lead (for communication) and a digital audio cable(SPDIF cable).

NO USE of the 861 v6 here.

First the speaker setup have to be done correct; that means:
The Master speaker outputs communications - the slave speaker understand communication.
The master speaker outputs audio - the slave speaker understand audio.
Is that clear enough?

Speaker Setup

Refer to the DSP3100 user manual from Duncan's Site pages 9-12.

A) Disconnect EVERY cable except the power cords from the speakers.

B) LEFT MASTER SPEAKER:
Standard setting or type >> pages 9 and 10
1)Power switch down (on backside) it's called now "PSW-off"
2)Press and hold "1" at the MSR(Meridian system remote), point to the face of the speaker and switch the "PSW-on"
3)Still hold the "1" on the MSR untill the display show "Type 1" - the diplay shows first the initial speaker postion (L,R,C...) then the type and then the postion again.
4)Refer to manual page 9 to select via arrow keys "L" on display- means left master. So no "R" or "L.slv" or "L.slv2" or "R.slv" or "R.slv2" display and the RED LIGHT MUST BE ON.
5)"PSW-off" wait 5 seconds
6)"PSW-on"

Now the standard setting for the left master is done
Next step is the "custom config":
7) "PSW-off"
8) Press and hold "0" at the MSR(Master system remote), point to the face of the speaker and switch the "PSW-on"
9) Still hold the "0" on the MSR untill the display show "L" .
10) Refer to manual page 10 select via ">" or "<" arrow keys G-series for communication, L for speaker position and controller so the MSR "speaks" with the master DSP
11) Press "CD" on the MSR - the display changed to "CD CD" now.
12) Refer to the manual page 11 and select "CD", "D1" and "NC" the other options left at default
13) You can toggle between the basic" custom config" and the "source config" with the source button and the off button on the MSR.
14) No need now to make other sources
15)"PSW-off" wait 5 seconds
16)"PSW-on"
Now the "custom config" is finished.

Next step is the frequency response (This is necassary now to check as we don't know the setup from before)
17) Refer to manual page 12
18) "PSW-off"
19) Press and hold "store" at the MSR(Master system remote), point to the face of the speaker and switch the "PSW-on"
20) Still hold the "store" on the MSR untill the display show "setup" .
21) Refer to manual page 12 select CD then via arrow keys "free" for the DSP
22) Press "function store" on the MSR- the display changed to "stored" now.
23) No need now to make other sources
24) "PSW-off" wait 5 seconds
25) "PSW-on"

Now the "config frequency response" is done-speaker is just ready to use.

Rafael,
This step is not necassary as a standard, please do it anyway to be sure as we don't know the setup before.
This is done only once here as an insurance-NOT to use it later on with that setup.
The proper setup is described AFTER this procedure

c) RIGHT SPEAKER "INSURANCE SETUP" don't use that later:

Make points 1) to 25) for that speaker- again only power cable are connected.

Red light be on.
This speaker have to communicate now with the MSR like a standard master speaker-turn on/off, select volume, select sources (correct setup is done only for one source here).

Now you can try both speaker one after the other !!

Connect your CD source - a digital cable with RCA plug to the D1 input on the speaker you want to test, no other connections.
Let the other speaker diconnected and out of the range of the MSR.
Press CD on MSR, the connected speaker should wake up, it should show volume 65 and the source name "CD".
Turn volume down and up to see the function.
Play the CD, you have to hear a sound.
That's it, switch to standby.

Test the other speaker.

When this works the setup have to be done for the:

c) RIGHT SLAVE SPEAKER

Standard setting or type >> pages 9 and 10:
26)Power switch down(on backside) its called now "PSW-off"
27)Press and hold "1" at the MSR(Master system remote), point to the face of the speaker and switch the "PSW-on"
28)Still hold the "1" on the MSR untill the display show "Type 1" - the dipla shows first the initial speaker postion(L,R,C...) then the type and then the postion again.
29)Refer to manual page 9 to select via arrow keys "R.slv" on display - means right slave. So no "R" or "R.slv2" or "L" or "L.slv" or "L.slv2" display and the RED LIGHT MUST BE OFF, GREEN light on.
30)"PSW-off" wait 5 seconds
31)"PSW-on"

Now the standard setting for the right slave is done.

That's all for the slave speaker, no further setup is necassary.

No connection to the speaker except power line, point with the MSR to the speaker and press CD no reaction is correct!

D) Connect the system refer to page 6 in the manual-even simpler:

32) Make a digital audio cable from your source to the left master speaker to input D1 it is the SECOND from the right RCA connector -(look from the back of the speaker) no further connections here between your source and the left master speaker

33) With Meridian S-lead: connect the Meridian S-lead on left master speaker - Din 5 pins plug go to "com out" second from the left side - look from backside of the speaker.
- RCA plug connect to "digital out" is the third RCA plug from the right - look from backside of the speaker
Connect to the RIGHT SLAVE SPEAKER - DIN 5pins plug go to the "com in" on the FIRST left - look from the backside of the speaker
- RCA plug connect to the "digital input 1" it is the SECOND RCA connection from the right- look from backside of the speaker

33) Connection with BNC cable and digital audio cable(RCA plugs)
Connect the BNC lead on left master speaker
- BNC plug go to "com out" SECOND from the left side - look from backside of the speaker
- RCA plug connect to "digital out" is the third RCA plug from the right - look from backside of the speaker

Connect to the RIGHT SLAVE SPEAKER
- BNC plug go to the "com in" on the FIRST left
- look from the backside of the speaker
- RCA plug connect to the "digital 1 in" it is the SECOND RCA connection from the right - look from backside of the speaker

34)Press clear in standby and point to the left master.
35)Turn your source on and press "CD" on the MSR, both speakers have to wake up.
36)Adjust the volume up/down, both speakers have to show "CD" and the same volume level.
37)Press play on your CD source, you have to hear both speakers.

Do not skip one step here, when this is working, we can do the next step.

Robert
