Hi Ronnie,

Agreed that's the best way to do it.

Hi Guys

Have read your comments with interest and appreciate the effort you have made.

To clarify. The BT Vision+ box has it's ethernet overpower line adapters disconnected for 2 days and

the problem persists.

So the only changes to my system is that I have installed Lion and ControlMac 355

I also found that after setting a static IP address for the MC200 my IPad2 had to have the lease renewed and the IP address entered before it could access the MC200

I have as Ronnie suggests used the HH GUI to set a static IP address for the MC200

I need to install Windows 7 on my MacBook Pro to try Ronnie's solution.

As soon as I have tried it I will report back

Hi Tony
You've updated to Lion 10.7.1 via Software Update??........check the version number using "About this Mac" under the "Apple" symbol in the top left hand corner

Also, as an even quicker trial...........could you repeat the Mac Sleep which causes the problem........but with the Mac originally connected via Ethernet to the HH.............i.e. with the Macbook connected before and ater sleep via Ethernet cable...........just a quick trial

That may point to something

Give it a try before the Sooloos COnfig.........which will take a while, given your starting point smile

If by chance that works..........when you open up your Macbook after sleep.......click on the Airport symbol in the top right hand corner.........select "Turn Airport Off"

Click the Symbol again......and select "Turn Airport On"

Hi Ronnie

Read your post after I had installed Windows

Lion is 10.7.1

Tried the direct ethernet connection with the following results

1 No connection to MC200 until ethernet cable to MC200 was disconnected and reconnected
2. There does not appear to be any difference in the behaviour between ethernet and wireless connection. i.e. relaunch fails unless dis/re connect happens

The ControlPC works well at least for a few times I have tried it on launch and relaunch

If I reboot the MacBook from Windows to Mac OSX the ControlMac launches but will not relaunch after sleep without the ethernet Disconnection and reconnection

Restarting Mac OS doesn't reset theMC200 as the above does

The Sooloos config need the following info

Static IP address 192.168.1.100 as your suggestion

SubNet Mask 255.255.255.0 suggested by Sooloos config
DNS There is a primary and secondary in a table of TC some thing ??
Gateway 192.168.1.254 Suggested by Sooloos config

Can you advise on the above setting where do I get them from?

Many thanks

Use the IP Address of your Router for both the DNS and Gateway

Not sure if the HH uses 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.254.......

If you're unsure, type both addresses into your browser and see which one responds with a Router config page

Hi Guys

I have set te MC200 to the static IP address of 192.168.1.100

I have checked in the advanced setting in the HH2 and it is shown as static and with that address

Unfortunately the problem remains. It cycles and shows 'connecting' at the bottom of the page.

I have tried switching wireless off and on but that is unsuccessful.

Any further ideas welcome

Kind Regards

Tony

Have you definitely checked the firewall settings for whatever the mac equivalents of Soolooshelper.exe, sunccompanion.exe and controlpc.exe ?

Maybe a un- and re-install of C-Mac might be needed.

I had the spinning wheel not connecting issue first time around and it was defo firewall for me.

Oddly, having rebuilt the pc last weekend and reinstalled I didn't have to tweak anything.

Does your BT HH show it as connected to 192.168.1.100 ?

Hi Tony
Don't think you're going to like what I've got to say!!!

I really do understand that your ControlMac can gain access to the after Sleep, only be disconnecting and then reconnecting the MC200. However, at this stage, I think this is a red herring!!!...........as "proof" consider the following interpretations of what you've said to date

a) After the Macbook comes out of Sleep, and WITHOUT Disconnecting / Reconnecting the MC200.......you can connect to the MC200 using Control:Web.......and you can do that time after time (i.e. multiple Sleep / Wake steps)........(please correct my impressions if I'm wrong)

b) You've said above that ControlPC (under Windows Bootcamp on Macbook) will also Reconnect to the MC200 after Sleep, without needing to Disconnect / Reconnect the MC200 (??????)

If the above two statements are true........and especially now that the MC200 will be always at the Fixed IP of "192.168.1.100"..........then it seems like the problem is not at the MC200

Hope you can follow the logic...........if somehow the MC200 was "loosing" its IP Address, then neither Control:Web nor ControlPC would be able to see it

If you click on the Settings Tab in Control:Web or ControlPC, you will likely see that the Sooloos Core (MC200) is always at the same IP Address............even without having to Disconnect / Reconnect the MC200 to the Router

Likewise, there is nothing about the Macbook going to sleep that should cause the MC200 to "loose its IP Address"..............the MC200's operation should obviously be completely independent of any other non-Sooloos Devices on the network

Having said that, I cannot explain why disconnecting / reconnecting the MC200 then in turn enables ControlMac to reconnect.........but I do think it's a bit of a red herring

Perhaps the focus at this stage should be more on the Mac, it OS version and Airport

Using Systems Preferences......Network.......you can see what IP Address is being allocated to your Mac

In that same screen, can you

1) Turn Off and then On Airport.........keep a note of the IP Address that is allocated.........repeat the process several times

2) Now put the Mac to Sleep and Wake it back up again (the Mac will take about 20secs to enter real Sleep).........after Wakeup, again look at the IP Address that's being allocated

Hi Ronnie

The IP address that is allocated to the Mac is 192.168.1.90.

This remains the same no matter how many times the wireless is switched off and on and also after sleep mode.

Regards
