After loading 750 CDs on to MC200 uneventfully using ControlMac, I received message on ControlMac "searching for Sooloos" and the icon spinning, trying in vain to find my MC200! The same happened with ControlPC.
Using BT Homehub online help I could confirm that the MC200 was indeed connected, and also my iPad and iPhone could act perfectly as remotes to play my library! Splendid help from Loud and Clear in Edinburgh led to home visit, tested a replacement of MC200 - but no different, trial of different router - problem resolved!
Homehub therefore implicated and reset to factory default - still not working! I contacted BT HELPLINE ...discussion with woman in Bangalore who remotely accessed my MacBook and advised swapping the Meridian Ethernet cable to a different Homehub socket - SUCCESS! Presumably BT had changed the Homehub firmware remotely to cause the problem in the first place but they terminated my Helpline call when I pursued this!
Anyway wanted any BT Homehub and Sooloos users to know that if your ControlMac or ControlPC can't detect your Sooloos / Meridian then try swapping an Ethernet cable at back of your Homehub! They assign different functionality to different sockets on Homehub apparently.
You may also need to re-download ControlMac/PC.

Hi Brooster,
Welcome and thanks for the info. Others have had issues with hubs before and also firewalls on the PC using ControlPC.
Weird about the sockets on the BT hub though. I only use the Gigabit socket and everything else hangs off a big switch from that.
Cheers
Rgds, Nick

Hi
Same problem as Brooster
I have MC200 (connected to Hub by RJ45 cable) + MacBook Pro + BT HomeHub
Installed Lion as ControlMac now updated and then downloaded CM update.
Also today installed BT Vision+ box which uses mains ethernet sockets.
Now ControlMac cannot find Sooloos unless ethernet cable is removed and repluged in either at the MC200 or the Hub.
No idea what the problem is. Have ordered an ethernet switch although I don't think this is the issue. I currently have a WD NAS, the MC200 & The BTVision + connected.
Could it be that the Hub is overloaded or are mains ethernet sockets problematical?
Any ideas welcome.

Quite by accident I typed in the IP address 192.168.1.69 as I had noticed that it was the IP address on the Control:Mac screen when it was working.
Control:Web screen came up straight away on Safari browser and was fully functional even though Control:Mac launch was still looking for the Sooloos.
Before updating everything the IP address was 192.168.1.68
Could it be that Control:Mac launch is looking at the above address and for some reason it is not available.

Tony,
For some reason the Hub has re-negotiated the IP address lease. If you want to avoid this in the future, you can set the MC200 IP address to be static within the setup of the BT hub.
Using a static address allows you to take more control and leave less to chance.

Have a look at the Firewall in Systems Preferences and ensure that both SooloosHelper and ControlMac are not blocked.
They each should have entries in the "Advanced" tab and should have "Allow Incoming Connections" next to them.
As regards the Sooloos IP Addresses, the Sooloos Cores many times seem to lease another IP Address after they restart as a result, I set it a Fixed IP Address using the Sooloos Config Program (Windows only).
That way, I always know what address to find the Core at in order to get the extra Information offered in the /Debug mode.

All problems I have with the Homehub are due to it's crap DHCP server... my devices fail to get an address from it and then stop working. I've added an old router I had, turned off all it's other services and now use it as the DHCP server for my LAN and all my issues are resolved.
I'm wondering if plugging into the different ethernet port on the hub simply forced it to give you a new address and that the problem will return at some random point in the future...

I set it a Fixed IP Address using the Sooloos Config Program (Windows only). What I do is to configure my router to issue a fixed IP address to the MAC address of my non portable devices. So the kit still requests a DHCP assigned IP address but the router (DHCP server) always allocates the specified IP address for each bit of kit I've configured this way. This way I can maintain control of all the IP addresses on my LAN from the a single point (Cisco Router) and this also safe guards against having duplicate static addresses. Regards, Carl

On the BT Hub you can tell it to use fixed IP for each device (on advanced settings page). I've told mine to use static for everything. This is essential when you use libraries addressed by IP across the home LAN e.g. Sooloos, DUNE to NAS, etc

Hi
Advised by Rick from Audio Images to un-install Control:Mac by doing the following:
Delete Control:Mac and shut down MacBook.
Switch off MC200
Reboot BT Home Hub
Switch on MC200
Switch on MacBook
Open Web Client page for MC200
Re install Control:Mac
Followed instructions but when I click on Control:Mac icon the browser goes blank.
Any ideas welcome.

Have you checked your hub settings to see if you have a conflict ? Have you set to static IP?

Hi Nick
I checked the hub and all of the ethernet connections have static IP as far as I can see.
I have discovered that the Dmg file is being downloaded to the Mac but the Mac is unable to find the Sooloos Core.
The message box states"cannot find Sooloos System Core please connect to a network which has an up to date Sooloos System Core"
