Sounds like a new feature.

I can only speculate but I suspect the following:

1x - Force output to be 44K/48K downsample if required.
2x - Force output to be 88K/96K downsample/upsample if required.
Direct - Output at the native rate but I guess it would still be capped at 96K.

We have been asking Meridian for this option for years on their processors and more recently on their Sooloos kit.
