Very good interaction and discussion among the members here. I thank you for that. Some points were brought up both pro and con that I had not thought of in my quest for a completely new setup.

There are many many speaker choices out there and one MUST listen for themselves before any final decisions are made. I already know I don't have the most perfect room nor do I have the BIG bucks to afford 8ks (front/center) and 7ks (rears).....BUT if I could find a black set of 8Ks for hopefully much lower than MSRP.. I would consider it.

But at the moment, there are other things that must get the financial preference....as in the Pre-amp and the DVD player... then comes the speakers. Until then I still have decisions to make in a price vs. performance standpoint for the G68/G98 combo. I may just get the G68 (if the price is right.) and a much cheaper, but close in performance DVD player and be able to put a couple more $$$ to the speakers sooner. Current speakers are Paradigm Active 40's and Active CC. Who knows, I may fall in love with the sound of the G68 and how it sounds with my current speakers and not long for anything else. I do however LOVE the 8ks and the 7ks.

That would be the DREAM setup if I won the lottery or happen to come across $75K for 8K (L/R), 5500HC (center), 7K (Lr/Rr), maybe some DSP420s or DSP 33 for the 7.1 configuration. But this only exists in my dreams for now. Oh well. I will keep an eye out for anyone selling 8k or 7k. maybe I find a "deal" or something.

Do the dealers that you guys use discount any of the Meridian stuff?
