I'm considering upgrading my processor from a legacy series, I have been seeing a lot of G68AXV for sale on audiogon. I want to run my 7 DSP speakers. I have been given conflicting information that the G68AXV won't work with my DSP speakers and need a G68AXD, G68J or G68D. Others selling the G68AXV have said otherwise. What say you? I cannot call Meridian it is just an answering machine these days Thanks

Hi Bayetta,
You need a G68D, J, or ADV.
Try downloading the G68 manual from the M site and look on page 4 for a chart of all the different model features.
If you can't find the site, send me an e-mail to my address on my profile and I will send it to you.

If you are running Digital Speakers then the G68AXV or G68XXV won't work; as they do not have DSP outputs (the space on the rear of the unit is taken up with balanced outputs). You will need the G68J / D / ADV or a later SL Model. There is a breakdown of the inputs/outputs and photo's of most variations Duncan's Site - G68 Information Thanks Duncan

Bayetta
Have a look at the information on "Duncan's Meridian Info" at the top of the page.
Basic answer is: A = Analogue outputs (single-ended) X = Analogue outputs (Balanced on XLRs) D = Digital outputs for your DSPs V = Video switching
J version is single-ended analogue and Digital outputs (and I think no tuner for the Japanese market)
If you want one that works with your DSPs you need a G68ADV G68D or G68J
Or the newer G68SL which has Peaker-link outputs for DSPs and a full set of Balanced analogue outputs on XLRs
