Firmware: this is the code Meridian write that runs on the microcontroller that runs the machine. It is updated via RS232.
Microcode: this is the code that runs on the ZiVA DVD decoder chip. It can be updated via RS232.
Drive: this is the code that runs on the microcontroller inside the DVD drive. It is updated by a special CD-ROM.
