Hi again,
+ 1 on enabling MC200 to Mac connections.
On a PC the following processes are running:
ControlPC.exe (Only when the application is running) SooloosHelper.exe (Permanently running, also need firewall permissions) SyncCompanion.exe (Permanently running, also need firewall permissions)
It's worth checking that the equivalent processes are also running on your Mac.
Sorry I don't have a Mac, others will have to advise you, but I recall talk of installing ControlMac to have admin rights.
Regards, Carl

Hi Carl,
Thanks for the advice.
I have checked all the processes are allowed to accept connections (both in and out).
Have also installed the config program from a PC and run a reboot but that didnt seem to work either.
It is all intensely frustrating and makes me nostalgic for my CD player which just works!

+1 I think you have missed one of the elements in the firewall somewhere. Or that you need to handle the firewall slightly differently. For example, when I installed the Control:PC app on my PC my Norton firewall twice reverted to AUTO on all Meridian/Sooloos programs. AUTO was not enough. I had to manually set to ALLOW on all programs and also do that twice with a reboot for it to stay set. No idea why. I did wonder if there was a sequence involved but left it at that. As G997 advises above, turn it off for a brief time and see what happens. That'll help narrow it down.

New owner of an MC200. Having what I suspect is a network issue (admit I don't know much about networks. desktop is running XP, using DSL router to access internet) All was good for first week. Hardwired the MC200 to our router, used Config to find the IP address (xxx.xxx.xxx.45) of the MC200, entered that into our web browser (page opened fine), downloaded controlPC program, opened controlPC and started ripping our CD library. After a couple days of ripping, we disconnected the hardwired ethernet connection to our router, moved the MC200 downstairs to our Meridian system, fitted a wireless bridge to the MC200 for iPhone control, connected digital audio to our G61 and spent a day listening (sounds great). This morning, we brought the MC200 back up to our PC and attempted to run controlPC again to do more ripping. We get an error screen saying "The Web page is unavailable because you are offline" There is then a list of "What you can try:" including "click Tools" but there is no tools button to click. We can still use the web utility to display the files on the MC200 using the IP address we were using before disconnecting. So that didn't change. But running the config routine now, it shows the MC200 with the same IP address but the controlPC with a slightly different IP address: same initial numbers, but ending with .47 now. And looking at our DSL connection information on our desktop, today it is showing an IP address same as above but with the .47 at the end, not .45. So I'm thinking that we have an IP configuration problem, but not sure how to repair. Assistance most appreciated.

I would recommend setting a DHCP mapping IP address using the MAC address of the MC200 or ID40 or indeed all components that have IP addresses that have a "server" component. I hardcode all devices to IP addresses using DHCP, except laptops, iPhones, iPads, etc. How you do this depends on your router.

Sorry MJ5282, but as I said, I'm rather clueless with network stuff. My desktop is configured to obtain IP and DNS addresses automatically. The Sooloos configure program shows both our MC200 and ControlPC in its list of "Devices on network" each with an IP address after "@ alphanumeric_string/ " The two addresses are the same apart from the final value, .45 for the MC200, .47 for ControlPC. The web utility can see the MC200 when I enter its IP address into my browser. When I try to run ControlPC now, I just get that error message as above. All was fine until we disconnected from the desktop yesterday and played with the MC200 in stand alone mode connected to our audio system. What changed?

Okay, for grins, I tried to access the MC200 via Internet Explorer rather than Firefox. It launched a window noting the site was off line with the option to connect or work off line. I hit connect, and the web page opened. So then I tried ControlPC again, and wonders of wonders, it opened! So we're back ripping disks again. Have no idea if anything I did (including rebooting the desktop a couple of times) had any effect. Not the most user-friendly bit of hardware, but that seems to be Meridian SOP.

Thanks to all for suggestions. Have finally got it working. Apart from rebooting the Sooloos server I also had to reboot the Mac I use to control the Sooloos.
Also found that the config app to reboot the Sooloos required the firewall turned off to work.
Hope that helps anyone else with a similar problem.

I thought of a couple more questions for all of you MC200 owners. Regarding the MC200 with iPad app: - Is it possible to import only select songs from iTunes into the MC200 or do you have to import the entire iTunes library? I suppose a workaround would be to burn a CD with the selected songs and import them that way. - I have very little computer knowledge, and would be happy having even less, so... Is it okay to turn off the wireless router every night and turn it back on in the morning without having to go through any initialization or configuration settings (IP addresses?) each time with the MC200? That is, would I have to keep the wireless router powered up all the time once the initial setup of the MC200 is completed. Thanks

Morning all. Anyone know what wires there are in the Speakerlink output of an MC200? Just wondering about comms.
Cheers Tintin
