I wonder if a more substantive update from M on the Trifield fix and apodizing for legacy products could be provided at this event ?

Unfortunately, I don't believe that we should build this event up into something that it is not

It will not be HH3..........it's simply an opportunity for Meridian to Demo some of their New and Existing Products to people who are going to the Bristol Show.......an effective use of money and resources etc. IMHO........as well as being a better environment to demo their products

The fact that Richard and Nick had to good sense to add a focus for HH's is great for those who can make it

I do fear however, that we will build up our expectations too much and people will then be inevitably disappointed

As frustrating as it is, I think the next time Meridian have anything substantive to say on the Trifield and Apodizing Updates is when they actually release them.........and even THAT may be very low key!!!.......and may also be well into the future

Meridian's focus will be on trying to Tempt us with their Demo's of New and Existing Products........understand that REALITY and people won't be disappointed

I'm as disappointed as anybody on Meridian's recent 2-year slide on Customer Support.........but I honestly don't believe they are going to change their ways in the short term.........and they certainly won't change their approach at this event, which they view as a "Show and Sell" event

It is what it is.......and they are what they are.......at least until they show the Profit Growth that some in the organization believe they need to show in order to convince the new "powers" that blending back in some of the old approach is also necessary

My expectation is that it's a dealer sales event pure and simple so no "HH" expectation on my part.

I'm happy to see the demos given I'm in Bristol at the time but I won't be adding any "M" additions to my setup given the outstanding issues.

So chicken and egg I guess as far as buying more M gear but I may find something at the Bristol show of interest to spend on.

Who said anything about Buying??.....

My comments relate to what Planning Meridian are putting into the day......IMHO they will not be planning answers on Trifield Width or Apodizing

Nor will they be planning any Q&A session like at previous HH days

If Individual people make future buying decisions based on what they see on the day, then obviously that's their call

Some people are giving up a lot of their time and traveling a very long way for this.......I just think that they should have Realistic Expectations of what to expect

If Meridian surpass those expectations then even better

Could I bring the wife over too, or do you think that this will stop us getting properly inebriated?

And she will not have to mind a load of pasty-eating, sandal-wearing, jumper-clad, bearded geeks. Is that how you described yourself, Nick?

I should love to come but unfortunately family commitments are likely to keep me away. If this changes, I will just pop down on the train from London as a day trip and see you all there.

I'd also love to come but I think I'll be in China & Thailand on business - but at least I might get a chance to pop into the Meridian store in Bangkok instead....

We're booked, arrive on Thursday Feb 24. Any wives want to share a car to Bath?

Thanks for the caution on the expectations Ronnie, but given the increasing improbability of a HH3 and the new communications policy, how else can I chat with the mothership?

Philip, I owe you and your wife breakfast. When and where, or will your wife be joining the Saturday morning breakfast?
