I like it to be black, white does reflect lights back in my HT room. I would love to see a matte black finish option- especially for speakers for exactly the reason you stated.

And to take an opposing viewpoint, I'd love to see full gloss black, not just the face plate. I think the full gloss finish used in the graphite and silver versions really ties the whole design together beautifully. The standard black gloss/matte models look too "blocky" to me, and spoil what's otherwise a surprisingly sleek design for such a big box.

To debate this topic properly we need some criteria; otherwise it all comes down to I like it / I don't like it based on personality quirks.
So, please can people give some actual reasons for their preferences please. You do make me chuckle!  I think when it comes to asthetics it can only come down to 'I like it / I don't like it based on personality quirks.' Liking the look of something can't be any more than that. Yes, and what made me chuckle was the line in the film "Larry Flynt versus The People": "Opinions are like arseholes: everyone has got one".
