It's only a std black fascia with silver cheeks, assume to match the Sooloos box. Except that it doesn't really, as it still has gold switch printing, which clashes with the silver. It looks good on the Sooloos box though.
Having said that the cheeks look white to me too.

They *really* need to update the 800-series case.

They *really* need to update the 800-series case. Good grief again. Then people would say that they would "rather their energies were directed towards fixing software bugs than dreaming up stuff like that..... I think they need to get their priorities straight."

Meridian charges silly money for this kit; it can do both.

I don't mind how many colour options are available - stick to black if you wish - more sales...=
M speakers are available in any colour. So long as the sound stays the same!
In the end M needs to make money.

I quite like it actually.. and it would match the bright red DSP8000's I've seen around too.

I have not cared for the styling of the equipment from the beginning but that never stopped me. I do like the look of the speakers though- and those you actually see.

In general keep my M kit black, however a pair of white DSP 3200's would go nicely in my office.
In general I thought M's presentation at CES was quite elegant.

To debate this topic properly we need some criteria; otherwise it all comes down to I like it / I don't like it based on personality quirks.
So, please can people give some actual reasons for their preferences please.

So, please can people give some actual reasons for their preferences please. You do make me chuckle! I think when it comes to asthetics it can only come down to 'I like it / I don't like it based on personality quirks.' Liking the look of something can't be any more than that.
No Darling, I've had it months!
