. . . and I've got a 512 which I'm happy to lend to you for as long as you need it, although I would like it back eventually. Should work but I don't have a D5 to test it!

Dave, If you're ok with this I'll post it to you FOC (I think I already have your address as I sold a DSP33 to you earlier in the year).

All I ask in return is that you or Jon gives me the plug/pin connection data for the D5 so that I can make my own lead up sometime in the future.

Ok?

Cheers, Roger.

If the cable that goes into the male speaker plug only has two cores, the signal wire should go to pin 5, the return (earth or shield) should go to pin 2 and the case.

For the 5C and 5M leads there you only really need 2 wires, I'm guessing the 4 wires are paralleled up inside the male plug that goes to the master speaker.
In the 180 degree plugs pin 5 is the signal and pin 2 is the return.
In the 240 degree plugs pin 4 is the signal and pin 3 is the return.

You'll have to 'buzz' out the wires to see what wire is connected to what pins at the two socket ends.

The 240 degree plugs never use pin 1 or 2 (5C & 5M), so I'm lost!

I think the 512 must work in a different way to the normal comms?
I had a look at the 512 manual and it states it must be plugged into the controller, so there must be something else going on!

If I had one, I'd take it apart to see what's going on.

It would be really great if someone could lend you an intact one to examine, as without that lead the 512/DSP33 is of course useless...

I've passed up buying two 512s so far because the lead was missing. I don't need it right now but having DSP33s it seems sensible to have one for future use.
