Yes, most discussion of the DSP 8kSL has tended to focus on the introduction of SpeakerLink, and speculation as to the changes in the sound quality that SL brought about. Yet there were also changes to the processing, as is made clear from the data sheet:
"New filter and buffering design for superb performance"

I have not yet had a chance to compare the 8k with the 8kSL but would be interested to hear from those who have.

To place 8kSLs above 8ks in the ranking still leaves the rest of the ranking intact.
