I saw Baby Of Macon at the cinema, and found it pretty tough going, although I generally like PG's work. Never thought PG would make it to Bluray!
I've got a German DVD of Drowning By Numbers, and that is a pretty poor transfer.
Tulse Luper is worth seeing, but is puzzling...

Hi All
Watched Jack Ass the other night, had no idea what to expect, just blew me away. If you`re a Pulp Fiction fan this takes it to whole new level.

I missed this back in July, so maybe others did too........ New 4k Remastered Bluray version of Gladiator is available and those who bought the "suspect" Sapphire version last year can avail of an Exchange program All the Reviews this time around give sparkling reports (rather than the negative reports of last year's disc http://www.dvdverdict.com/juryroom/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=4618

But there are rumours that the Gladiator swap offer is for a limited time only, so you may need to be quick. I have been much distracted by other matters and only recently sent my disc off to be exchanged. A friend tells me that turnaround time is about three weeks, so I have not yet started to worry that it has been lost in the post or stolen.

Can someone just clarify who is doing this swap out. Do you go back to the place you purchased your disc or direct to the film company? Edit: Thanks for the heads-up folks. I have now found the UK address to return the disc.

Just as a guide to others, I posted my disc to Universal on 21 October and received the replacement today.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang has just come out on BD 7.1 if you have enough speakers!
Why it is in 2:20 and not 2:35 I don't know.
Can't help but sing along - they don't make them like that anymore!
The intermission is still in there!

Scares the sh*t out of me that movie. The child catcher puts me behind the sofa every time. Must be programmed in from childhood...
On another subject, watched the new Apocalypse Now BD the other night, which was amazing in lots of ways.

No 18 in the Hall of fame I have simple tastes; I am content to settle for the best: GIK monster bass panels, rear wall. QNAP TVS 471i3. Roon into DSP5200SE via 210/ 218 zone... Explorer 2. Bluesound Pulse 2, Mini & Flex. 596v1, 518, Foxsat HD, Sony BDP, Pioneer 5090, 2 Chromecast's for LRB videos. MS200 to F80 for a Roon zone

Hi Chris,
Interesting find...
Interesting I have both copies of Master and Commander, and during testing; sadly there wasnt a lot in it. Not worth the extra cost.
That and the extra cost verses SD DVD I can see why Bluray is very slow to get off the ground. It doesnt help that the powers that be release the wrong versions i.e. The Lord of the Rings, Dances with Wolves, etc or Jurassic Pack still isnt available.

Just watched How To Train Your Dragon with my son. Hes almost 3 loved it was he scared? - you bet!
Nice to see animation at 2:35.1 at 3.1 metres there was a lot of screen to fill and DreamWorks pulled it off.
The picture was very good one can see the attention to detail hairs on the Vikings arms, for example.
Sound was also excellent, but most of all; the story worked not sure if I can get him to bed though!!
