That may be true, but the "other good instruments" in question would have been Guarneri, Amati, Guadagnini (sp?) etc, which also go regularly into the many 100s of 1000s.

In other words, not a matter of a �5 cable being as competent as a �1000 one, as in hifi snakeoil.
