Hi All,

I wanted to let folks know that I'm handing off MeridianUnplugged.com to Duncan (Duncs).

My new hobby (learning to play the Fiddle) has totally consumed me, in a good way.

I'm not selling any Meridian equipment and I will continue to visit the site and help when I can. I just want less responsibility and want to hand it off to someone that is more dedicated to the task. I think Duncan may take it to a new level (we'll see smile ). 10 years is enough for me.

I think combining Duncs info site and MeridianUnplugged under one “roof” will be good in the long run.

So please be patient, if we hit some bumps along the road.

It may take a while to transfer this and it may not be all in one swoop.

But before I step aside, I want to give special thanks to Joel (VirusKiller). I could not have maintained this site nearly as well without him. He did tons of work on the Wiki topics, Forum rules, Moderating etc.

And to Carl our more recent Moderator, being more level headed than I, is a great new asset. Duncs first question was will VK and Cark stay on !! Yes.

Both Carl and VK are on board with the handover and will remain as moderators.

Keep in mind this is all VOLUNTEER work.

George

George,

I know I'm not a seasoned hitchhiker, but please accept our many, many thanks for all your hard work, insight (+3db, MRC advice and more) and dedication for all these years. It is greatly appreciated! I wish you the best in your endeavours and look forward to your continued participation. I'm also sure we can look forward to continued excellence with Duncs (and VK and Carl) in the future.

Regards,

Wayne

George,

Thanks so much for making this website possible. A simple search on here has saved me countless hours during troubleshooting on many occasions.

Cheers,

George, sorry to read that you are leaving us.

The HHG2M has been a godsend to all Meridian owners over the 10 years that you have cared for and nurtured it.
You have done a stirling job to build up and maintain the site, at your own expense, making it what it is today, the reference point for Meridian aficionados from all corners of the Globe.
Something 'The Mothership' could only dream of doing.

Having sown the seed that provided a service to all Meridianales, your endeavours enabled the site's expertise to flourish and eventually take up the mantle of the much loved, but now defunct, 'Meridian Technical Services'.

The site has been particularly well run since it's inception and always at the very highest level, unlike many out there.
Your hard work, I'm sure, is greatly appreciated worldwide and all will be saddened to hear that you're finally to relinquish this, your baby.
However, I'm sure that Duncs, with Joel & Carl on board, will follow on in your footsteps and continue the good work that you have done here.
Work that must surly have benefitted us all in some way, members and lurkers alike.

So George, Thank you for an excellent website and good luck with your new hobby.
I am sure, that given time, you will become as proficient at fiddlin' as you have been successful at bringing HHG2M to the internet.

Regards .... Holtz'.

Following on from George's message, I too am hoping for the smooth transition of the website in to my care and look forwards to future developments like the integration of Meridian-audio.info with it.

The initial step will be a big one and will be announced with plenty of warning; to move the site to a new hosting company. This will mean moving the Forum, Wiki, MySQL databases, migrate to the new version of the BBS software & updating the DNS records for Meridianunplugged.com (URL will stay the same). This will mean a down time of up to 24hrs whilst the DNS it propagated around the world.

I would like to thank Carl and VK who are happy to remain as moderators to help me with this task.

Thanks
Duncan

Hi George,

I never asked why you started HH in the first place. Why ever it was, I think we all owe you for what we have enjoyed and learned over the last 10 years.

You've done a great job.

A most sincere thanks to you.
