The colour might depend on when you let them out ex-demo and what my wife's taste is at that time . Also, I think black works in the same way as it does for a woman and her dress. Makes them look slimmer. Not a bad thing for the 8k's either.

On that basis perhaps hooped colours might also work well! Cars in matte colours appear to be fashionable these days. Not sure I agree on that trend either though.

Purdeys, Moke, Leica, 'Blad. Only the best.

I've got silver - was concerned about the grilles standing out but I'm used to them now.
My room is a living room - so light furnishings - and the silver seems to blend in.
So I suspect black & graphite would be best in darkened rooms but silver in lighter ones.
Chris
PS. So you're not tempted by red or Yellow then...?

Chris I'm with Chris on this, we too have a light coloured walls and furnishings. We had a Graphite pair on home demo, and my wife hated them, "big dark monoliths" I think she call them. However, she loved the sound and said that silver was the way to go as they look slimmer. All my M kit is in Silver. Have you noticed that Meridian tend to put silver DSPs in all their PR shots. We have silver. But I suggest black.
An 8k is not an annual fashion statement to match ladies lingerie or car colours that are popular that year. It is a timeless musical instrument that like a Steinway or Yamaha concert grand should always be any color you like, as long as it is black.
And there is no contradiction with our Ferrarri Red F80. That is a totally different kettle of fish fashion statement.
Just imho.

Ditto
Black is OK - original Ford colour!
Technically they are not musical instruments!
When the day comes - black it wouldn`t be, or silver - same colour as everyone else.
No - for me it would be Performance blue or ultimate green. I wouldn`t want to hide them. Big room - big colours.
I would also use Swissvax wax! make em shine!

In the bat cave I've got silver ones to the left and right of the screen and a black center one behind it. Price was the determinant, not the colour, but oddly it works rather well visually.
