The problem that I encountered is that when I re-typed, MConfig didn't carry my old config over - in fact it decided on what sources I had itself (based on the connections I had) which were totally wrong !

I'll give it another go just to check in case I was doing something wrong, otherwise I'll just start from scratch with type 1 - shouldn't take too long - but I'll have to re-run the MRC measurement routine.

I should have time later - I was nuts enough to watch the F1 live - but don't worry, I wasn't nuts enough to watch the delayed qualifying !

If you are using MConfig you should ALWAYS be "store" PC to Processor (never "fetch" unless perhaps when starting from scratch).

Once you use MConfig, "types" have little meaning. You can think of MConfig as your own Custom "Type". So changing type in processor and then loading from MConfig will do nothing. Because it will take all the settings from your Config files.

Types are just a baseline to start with for folks using MConfig.

For example my MConfig for G68 with 5 DSP speakers and no sub, shows Type 0 7.1 Analog with a sub. Types even have less meaning on G68 because the "wizard" on the front panel can almost fully configure the processor.

I can certainly see why folks would be confused on this. Just think of "types" as having multiple factory default configurations. And your MConfig file completely defines the configuration.

If you wanted to start from scratch. What I have done is Type the processor closest to your hardware config, then fetch that with MConfig and then customize that, then store it (send it customized back to processor). Then the PC MConfig file becomes your master config file from there on and you never touch types or front panel again (for G68 Wizard or 861).

I believe Ronnie assumed you were not using Mconfig when he suggested changing Types.
