"The Complex", that's the one.
The Bluray "How to be a Mega Star" is not bad either but the SQ is not a good as on the Complex on DVD-A.

Regards,
Carl

PS My wife did not get on at all well with "The complex" until she had watched the "How to be a Mega Star" now she get it smile

After days or weeks you'll know the ones you do really use (probably more than one as there are discs and films with very different bass energy). You can store them as new modes too.

The system is so versatile... use it.

*IN THEORY* you should be able to find one setting (after, as you said, play with a bunch for a while). Because you are ideally only removing bass that is over excited by the room. If you have to switch between different settings for different material you may be just compensating for some material. I just back it off until nothing sounds "sucked out". It may not clean up everything but that's better than running with nothing and the few cases that may still be over excited it's probably of case of the material and/or my pushing it harder than normal listening for testing purposes. You're just carving off a few bad "ridges".

I have mine defaulted to 210ms (33 filters across 5 speakers). It seems to be around where most folks end up. If it sounds good without it great. For many folks it helps. You need to be careful what music you test with too (you may pick a tune that is just way over the top and try to clean it up with MRC and end up over doing it). You want something with strong clean bass. I use BlueMan group DVDA for a lot of bass testing. Insane bass but very very clean.
George,
of which kind of bass are you speaking-electric or acoustic bass -
and in which frequency range-typical the "boom" "boom" range about 80 to 120 Hz ?

Robert

I read the Wiki, and the release notes, found a null modem cable in my "box of cables", and re-attempted a MRC run on my 861V6. Plugged into the correct input and having the settings corrected yielded a low number of filters. Armed with Wiki-knowledge I generated a few "non default" profiles and uploaded a reasonable looking one... Wow! This is worth it. I wish it was easier to accomplish, though.

I don't want to start yet another 861V6 debate, but I would have expected "easier to accomplish" MRC as well on a 7? year newer $25,000 preamp. Absolutely unbelievable nothing has changed. MRC was fine for a FIRST PASS. But geesh. Guess we'll have to wait for the G68.2 for things to move forward.

Hi Evdberg, no offense intended! (just in case!) Most of us here are, of have been, 'obsessed' with many things 'M' wink
Anyway I do find useful to have at least a couple of profiles loaded and easy to access as user DSP modes on my v4...
Cheers
