Can I just check something. It says it has "a SpeakerLink digital input to accommodate a Sooloos media server". This obviously means connecting the SpeakerLink output of a C15 or MS600 to this input.

So in what way is it a 'core'? If it has a network connection too then it could conceivably act as a Sooloos core-and-zone itself (with a TwinStore on the network), but otherwise as far as I can see it couldn't.

Or did I miss something?

Sorry, I guess you were talking about the controller...

Quite. I heard rumours of this "hub" and was led to believe that the product was actually a Sooloos core without screen or audio outputs. That was clearly wrong info, but the fact that this "562" replacement is not a Sooloos client is a disappointment, as is the lack of connectivity to anything older (still no G62 as far as I'm concerned). Presumably there is no room correction either.

Unfortunately, it is more evidence that Meridian has chosen to leave its existing customers behind and concentrate on new ones. I'm also convinced that Meridian doesn't "get" lifestyle audio and the *features* that are required. To run Sooloos through the core, you'll need a Control 15 (which many won't want due to form factor) or a 1500 MS600 in addition to the AC200.

The 3200s look nice and are in keeping with the new style of DSPs. I imagine that three of them below a home cinema screen (and a sub or three) would work well.

Definitely not a 562 replacement. From the physical styling, this is designed as a standalone unit and not as part of a system approach. I am thus puzzled as to who is the target customer.

Interesting additions.

I'm surprised at the lack of display on the 3200s - I remember St Edd commenting on how the lack of display on the DSP33s caused all sorts of problems for setup & control, and having the display on the 3100 made life so much easier. But I guess it's a cosmetic item that many people wont want in their lifestyle apartments.

And they promote a new driver by saying it's the same one as used in a McLaren

AC200 - not a G series, not a Sooloos product, a new range? (Wonder if it's the same electronics as used in the Mclaren and LR packaged in an expensive box...?)

Looks like the same 3" full-range as used in the F80/M80

yes, the lack of display and IR receiver practically precludes it from being used just with a normal (non-Meridian) CD player. I can't see that it would add much cost, nor do I think anyone would mind it being there, but many will notice it's lack.

no display on 3200s is bad move imnsho. they essentially do not match up w/ DSP line and for that price they should. They also seem non-DSP by said display omission. The beveled box amp is not only not stackable but also not as aesthetically pleasing to my eyes as the G series.

Oh well.

It's just stuff. I'm sure it sounds good.

Do we know if the 3200s have coax SPDIF inputs?

Oh, wouldn't it be good to stack one 3200 on the AC200 and the other 3200 on a "dummy" AC200?
