On the 565 we have a room aspect ratio, has yours been set correctly if you have it. Just a thought, Chris
No 18 in the Hall of fame I have simple tastes; I am content to settle for the best: GIK monster bass panels, rear wall. QNAP TVS 471i3. Roon into DSP5200SE via 210/ 218 zone... Explorer 2. Bluesound Pulse 2, Mini & Flex. 596v1, 518, Foxsat HD, Sony BDP, Pioneer 5090, 2 Chromecast's for LRB videos. MS200 to F80 for a Roon zone

Good point. But I'm not sure the aspect ratio was ever used. In the G68/861V4 you can actually set the angle to each speaker (and it sets the aspect ratio). And it is stated somewhere in the manual or online help that it is currently not used but may be used in the future for more refined optimization.

Chris/George,
I have my aspect ratio set to 1.4:1, but I also tried 2:1. My room is bit of an "L" shape, with the speaker centered on an 18' wall. The room narrows to 14' where I sit. The length is 24 feet.
The funny thing is that, with the 568.1, the width setting was an obvious one. I could squeeze the image down to a foot wide, or spread it wider than the room. It was not subtle at all. I don't know if the change happened when I went to DSP speaker or upgraded my 568, but, at some point, the Width setting changed.

Maybe the DSP8000s have such a terrific soundstage already you can't tell the difference in Width settings!

This evening, I checked the effect of the width parameter in Trifield on my G68 with latest firmware. Interestingly, the effect of changing width seems less pronounced than I remember when I set up the system with earlier firmware about 2 years ago. This is what Nick says a few posts up.
Now, the effect is there but is quite subtle whereas before there was a definite "right" setting. My main LR speakers are about 7ft apart (active analogue). Puzzling.

For the sake of thorough-ness I am replying to a previous question - my DSP 8000s are 8'8" apart (on center). I sit 11'6" from each of them (as measured for the config). I have turned the original question over to Jason at M. America and he's forwarded it to the appropriate software genius in the UK. I hope to have a response soon.

I played with Width today and changing the value has a subtle but audible effect on the width of the soundstage in my setup. My left/right speakers are approximately 10 feet apart.

Im sorry guys I am trying to find where i can adjust width and angle on the 861V4
Sorry found width and I can adjust from 0 to 1.5
what am I listening for when adjusting width
I don't see Angle
I find the sound comes from across the front
When I had stereo before the sound came from an invisible center

There is no parameter called angle.
There is Width, Depth and Axis (up down on DSP Speakers Only).
Some folks may use the term angle when describing the effect of these parameters.

That's what some of us are trying to figure out. In my setup width is VERY subtle and I can hear something changing but it's hard to describe.
Like some folks have said I believe I heard it having larger differences in older setups and older firmware. But I tended to leave it at default anyway. I always found depth worth fiddling with though. But until VERY recently (since installing DSP-6000's, toeing in and having front 3 closer to an arc) I also find DEPTH less effective than in the past and not nearly as jumpy as it was in the past. I think this is a good thing though. You could read "less effective" as "smoother adjustments". Since the adjustments are so smooth now it's hard to hear what 1 step does now. I may create a phantom device with it set at widely different values and try comparing it that way for both width and depth.
I'm still confused by what you meant "I don't see Angle" a couple posts back.
