There must be a reason that old cards do not fit a 861v6.
If that is because it went to 8 channels input, the backplane must have changed to accept that and bring it to the DSP chips.

New backplane would render all the cards useless (like for 861v6). So G series upgrade would mean almost full replacement of all internal cards. Not economic to offer to people.

Perhaps new serie will come and trade in program just like for the 861 will be done ?
