Has anyone out there got any ideas on the follwing?

My 'new' 800, which sounds absolutely superb, will not respond to any movement controls from the MSR+.
It will respond N Controller to clear, it will switch on and off.
The display will change when display is pressed, but it will not start, stop, skip or respond to numbers.

I know I need the exercise but I'd rather not continue getting up and down.

Any thoughts gratefully accepted!
