Whilst this is fine for source switching, you should know that it is not possible to re-program any of the IR codes when the remote has been switched to any of the first three sources as these are all reserved by Meridian for CD, RADIO & DVD control.

Carl - an excellent point, one that I was slow to come to realize. I spent quite a bit of time perusing the instruction manual before figuring it out. It is best, IMO, to use those first three source buttons either for Meridian gear or components for which you expect to continue to use the original remote.
