From what I can see:

- No Quadstore.
- MS600 only in silver.
- MS600 is an "audio endpoint" and does not run a core.

Oh, and the MS600 is the first Sooloos product designed and built 100% by Meridian. and is branded "Meridian", not "Meridian Sooloos" or "Sooloos".

So Sooloos as a brand-name is on the way out? Thank heavens, I say.

No core? So a Control is anyway necessary. Boooooooooooo.

MS == Meridian Sooloos => Media Source ? Interesting renaming ...

Interesting indeed. One could presume that bringing the design parallel to the G-Series, calling it a Meridian, and starting a new series of names might suggest that Meridian are taking the future development and integration of Sooloos rather seriously...

I've been toying with the idea of getting a Berkeley Audio Alpha DAC, and running the digital output from my Sooloos Ensemble into that, and then analogue out to my power amps - doing away with my pre-amp. (I did try running one of the analogue outputs from the Ensemble directly into the power amp, but there was so much hiss once I'd turned the output volume on the Sooloos zone down to normal listening level, it was not acceptable.)

Is my understanding correct if I think that the MS600 would allow me to get a decent adjustable analogue output from Sooloos to the power amp, so that I can get rid of my pre-amp (which I think is a weak link in my system)?

It seems so: I'd have thought the MS600 will be a good seller to people like you who have already bought into Sooloos and want an upgrade (upsampling/apodizing) or different functionality.

I did wonder the about this; now it has been confirmed.

Booo indeed. A TwinStore + ID40 + iPad app would really be all I need, instead I have to buy a �4k "remote" which will be sitting on the rack collecting dust. As much as I like the interface of the Control:10/15, I wish they would have put a "core" into the ID40 or at least the MS600.

This thread mentioned a product that is embargoed until 30th July. I did not realize this when posting information about it. I have temporarily moved all relevant posts to a hidden forum until the information is officially released.

I'm going to keep this thread open, but I will delete any post which mentions any new Sooloos product other than the Source 15 before 30th July.
