] I think it can be usd to rip to NAS, with the appropriate software. What format were you wanting to rip, and for what system? Rick FLAC. For SB system.
MC200, Twinstore, 808v6/ID41 -> DSP8000SE (+ SB Touch, Sony BDP-3300, SKYHD, legacy cassette player) 2nd system: MC200 analogue out, Linn LP12, SB3 -> Quad 34 -> M60 rosewood F80 (Rubino Micallizzato) F80 (Rosso Corsa)

I was informed by the manufacturer (MF Digital) that the import 4 is specific for the way Sooloos imports FLAC files. It is not usable for other systems or formats. There are other units that rip FLAC (as well as MP3, apple lossless, etc) files to hard disc and those are then transferrable to Sooloos as well as any other music programs, servers or NAS. I have used the MF Digital Ripstation for this purpose and have about 3 thousand CD's ripped and ready to transfer. However, it is a 2 stage import process. I do find that files are imported into Sooloos a lot faster than ripping CD's. Attached is a link to their site. http://www.ripstation.com/Regards, Wayne Thanks - I have a medium size (not big) CD collection to rip so looking for a source of rental of kit available in the UK. Exact error-free copying, accurate tagging (including many classical titles that I have found most systems incorrectly tag) and high quality album art and notes where available matter, hence my interest in Import 4.

My laziness (and not the size of my CD collection) is the main motivation for me to consider getting it. How has your experience with it been?

I bought a SD25 for use with dBpoweramp batch ripper. It's not the sturdiest or robustest thing, and in essence it's just an expensive loading arm for an optical drive, but it works without problems. I rent it out to friends and colleagues when they get the idea that it could be easy to rip their music collection. Practically paid for itself. Will get it going on DVDs when I can figure out a good (cheap) storage solution.

It works flawlessly and the metadata is over 95% accurate. I use DB poweramp for those few discs that are not recognized. It makes ripping a large collection very user friendly but it is a big expense, that may or may not be worth it depending on how much you have to do. The smaller unit is probably a good balance of cost/performance. Wayne

I've just got hold of the data sheets.
Control 15 looks identical to the Control:10 (as mentioned by Rick, I think). Still no cover to hide the wires when seen from behind. Unimpressive for a lifestyle product IMO.
New "Media Source 600" (MS600) in silver G-series clothing replaces the SourceOne: Apodizing, FIFO, balanced and unbalanced analogue outputs as well as SPDIF and SpeakerLink. A single Sooloos zone with lots of analogue stuff you probably don't need for 1750.

MS600 + TwinStore + iPad comes in at less than a Control 15, doesn't it? (Can an MS600 run a core?)
MS600: new numbering system, so first of several items?
And yes few people will need all of that, but all of us will need some of it...
(I hope it's available in black too. I don't like the G-series in silver...)

Hi Nic,
Assuming it is also available in Black would you purchase one?
Can it run a Sooloos core, that's a very good question.
@VK, does the data sheet give the answer?

Hi VK,
Any news on a "QuadStore"?
The Control:10 has a Windows share that contains some interesting files. Support files for a QuadStore and Qnap NAS device; also some Wi-Fi support files.

@VK, does the data sheet give the answer? Do any of the dealers know the answer? Quite a crucial question.

Indeed so, and personally I welcome digital and analogue together because I like headphones and it's far the simplest solution in M land (analogue out into Stax headphone system, keep the main system switched off). That's how I have done it often with the analogue outs on my BD player (which are a strength of that particular model).
