I'm with VK on this one. SL only as an input on entry level speakers is bizarrely brave. Not all systems will be all-Meridian (unless M drive it inexorably that way). I will be using SL to drive my 7K2s but I am also considering SB into 3K2s for a secondary zone - no SPDIF input means either 20% tax for the privilege plus the untidiness and loss of elegance of introducing yet another box . The latter is probably a bigger concern in the particular setting. So if this rumour is true, M have probably lost one sale just there.
