Robert:
I had intitially used the word 'harsh' to describe my v6 - which I think, in retrospect, was a poor choice of words. Whether my v6 has 'broken in' or I have simply become used to its particular strengths I cannot say, but what I do experience versus v4 is increased detail, greater dynamics and a wider soundstage. In every way, to my ears, the v6 presents a more accurate portrayal of the music, even if, ultimately, it is less warm and 'euphonic' than the v4. What the reasons are for these differences, who knows. At the end of the day, doesn't really matter whether it is apodizing, better analog output cards or a new kind of hallucinogenic black paint - it sounds great!
I am not entirely sure what you mean about 'silentness/majority', but the v6 certainly does not add any noise or compromise the 'blackness' of the background.
Hope this helps!
Simon
