Well, there's few cinema's that are 7.1 AIUI. and the few ones that are use five speakers at the front and just the two at the back, so it's still basically 5.1 from our point of view.

That's an interesting comparison, but I was rather thinking of acoustic recordings on Bluray, such as opera or concert CDs with 7.1 on the disc. I guess they could equally well be matrixed (or worse) and so simply duplicate what any 8-output M processor can do by matrixing...

I searched through my small BD collection to find a 7.1 BD to test my new gear ... only found my AIX demonstration disc that shipping with my Oppo. In due course I bought Dark City and 3:10 To Yuma but I agree with the premise that most BD's are 5.1 ... and M equipment can matrix very, very well. It will be interesting to see/hear Toy Story 3 in 7.1 ... I Can't wait !

Just a small reminder to anyone pondering over the v6 that the trade in promo ends at the end of this month.....

As a point of curiosity, has anyone seen (or know of) a professional review of the 861v6 - I've seen one for the 808.3, so perhaps the v6 is next?

861v6 listeners, what are your thoughts now about upgrading from G68/861v4 with DSP speakers(8k/7.2khc)?

If funds are abit tight would you still do it?

Its amazing how good this 861v6 sounds...Ive just installed it in my system and I'm very happy with the results...I have a Denon A1UDC as blu-ray player and I want to know what are the differences between these connections: HDMI connected to HD621 / analogue multichannel connection directly to the v6? Would the second connection be better than the first one in some ocasions?

Thanks,

Renato

HDMI/HD621 will out perform the Analog connection in every way. If you think the V6 sounds good now, just wait until you actually hook up your Bluray "correctly".

If you think listening to music is fun, try learning an instrument.

My new 861v6 delivered, installed, calibrated, and MRC'd today. Just starting to enjoy. Feeling very good Maynard! ;-)

OT: I recently had a Russ Andrews upgrade to a new 1TB SkyHD box - it has made a considerable improvement sonically and in terms of picture clarity/definition which I noticed before my upgrade from a G68ADV. IMHO well worth the spend.

Is it possible to connect none Meridian Sources using Speakerlink? I have this Denon A1UDC which has a DenonLink output which is aon ethernet output used with Denon products to improve SACD reproductions. Would it work with Meridian?

Regards,
Renato
