I may be wrong here but you need to be careful with this, I think the 568 just overlays text to a composite video signal passing through it, rather than creating the composite signal, so test this out before investing. Wire it up to a TV and check that a picture appears when the 568 is on, and disappears when its off. I think you'll find that you never get a picture unless you put one into the 568 in the first place.

Did anyone already perform the '568 composite test' Rick mentioned?

Cheers,
Bob

i would imagine that in most cases a composite output would be avaliable from any DVD/BD or sky box to feed into the 568

Yes that's the way to do it.. but if you used the skybox for composite video signal and it went into standby while you were watching a DVD.. your power amp would go off!

true, you can set the sky box so that the auto-off is disabled.

probably better would be to use the composite from a Meridian DVD player, that way the composite signal would go on and off with the system.

I use my 598 composite out to trigger a clear blue audio video sensor that outputs a trigger. Been using it for years and it works great!

Although it can't supply enough current so I use it to turn on a cheap car audio amp turn on circuit you can get off eBay for $4. I power both with a wall wart transformer.

The 568's composite output does not output a sync signal so you can't use it for this.

Thanks for the info.
I'm gonna look into the Xantech solution.

562V on Ebay for 130 or offer.

Nothing to do with me.

I tried the sensing plugs/sockets, the 568 draws to much current even in standby.
The plugs I used couldn't be adjusted though.

I bought a pair of 18-bit DSP5000s off the seller of the 562V. He's kosher.

Sooloos, Roon, G series (with LPS upgrade), 800 series (with LPS upgrade), HD621, AC200, Prime and PS, DSPs old and new.

Purdeys, Moke, Leica, 'Blad. Only the best.
